[Community Showcase] Rumors about Rocksteady's next game
Paul Gale (the guy behind Title Fight) has shared that Rocksteady, the developers of Batman: Arkham City, may be working on a new game known as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Manhattan Crisis. This will supposedly be a darker take on the TMNT franchise and will share similarities (such as combat) with the Batman games, but there will be comedic elements between the turtles and notable characters.
All the turtles are meant to be playable and will have their signature weapons and own move sets. There are also flashbacks where you play as Master Splinter/Hamato Yoshi. This is just a rumor, but if this happens I will be very happy
Here are the details straight from the Paul Gale Network:
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Manhattan Crisis is the alleged name of the title.
Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo are the four playable characters, each withtheir own varied move set and weapon of choice (sword, bo staff, sai, and nunchucku…respectively).
Flashbacks are played as Master Splinter/Hamato Yoshi.
Shurikens, smoke bombs, grappling hooks, and climbing foot spikes.
Gameplay and story/stage progression similar to Batman: Arkham City.
Classic characters such as Bebop and Rocksteady (warthog and rhinoceros), Dr. Baxter Stockman, Shredder (Oroku Saki), and Krang act as bosses and in the case of the humans-turned-mutants, you fight them in both forms throughout the story.
The Turtle Van and Turtle Blimp will be present and with them and other gadgets, the Wii U build is expected to have touch screen controls for specific actions.
Multiplayer is unknown.
Graphics engine used is that of Arkham City.
The game is expected to be more dark than slapstick, but the turtles themselves and their interactions with the Foot Clan, bosses, and story characters like April O’Neil and Casey Jones will still have comedy attached.
Purportedly being in development for Wii U, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.
Careful selection of voice actors to bring the universe to life as well as Rocksteady did with their two Batman games.
Manhattan Crisis shares a similar name to the 1991/1992
Do it Rocksteady. With the name of your company, you had to have ben TMNT fans.
Then I'm taking Michelangelo. This does look awesome.
Donatello, he's a boss. I'm so looking forward to this...
oh hell man if this real its....freakin....on!!!
Oh hell yes. This would be awesome if it proves true. The Batman games were done so well, and I could definitely see TMNT turning out just as good.
Lol I really hope this game turns out great. The past few TMNT games have been meh, to down right guttertrash (Oh God, why Re-shelled, WHY?!).
i'm glad they take the time to pick the right voice actors, I swear having the "real" voice actors makes the game much more enjoyable + better.
If this was more based on the comics or the 4Kids Version it would be good. But the 90s cartoon darker just doesn't seem like a good idea.
I hope it's based on the darker side of the Turtles from the comics.
If people could give more of a damn about the new TMNT cartoon http://www.screwattack.com/news/new-tmnt-cartoon-show.I will be more happy
This sounds AWESOME.
(and just right for some 4-player co-op, although I don't mind if it's cut due to time constraints) ((This is assuming that they are planning for 4-player co-op, because it'd be silly NOT to!)
YES, GOD. YES, GOD, PLEASE, YES. YES. YES. YEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSS. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=31g0YE61PLQ)
This could be awesome! I hope there is multi-player. What am I saying? How could you make a TMNT game without multiplayer... http://www.screwattack.com/shows/partners/angry-video-game-nerd/avgn-tmnt Don't make the same mistake!
I can't tell you how happy this makes me - rumor or not.
Wait, is this based off the 80s cartoon version of the franchise?
MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!!!!!111111111
I approve of this, Spider-Man next please
This could be really, really cool. I like the idea of making it darker (like the old comics) but still having some comedy in there too. If Rocksteady's work with the Batman franchise is anything to go by, we might be in for something really special here.
