[Community Showcase] Sonic the Hedgehog 4 - Episode 1 is now on Steam
A while back I wrote an article about an entry in the Steam registry for Alan Wake. Not only was the entry there, there was also an entry for Sonic the Hedgehog 4 - Episode 1.
As of today, Sonic the Hedgehog 4 - Episode 1 and Sonic CD are now available on Steam for $9.99 and $4.99 respectively.
On top of that, Valve is having a weekend sale on all Sonic titles. You can pick up Sonic Generations for $14.99, Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing for $4.99, Sonic Adventure DX for $4.49, and almost all of the Genesis games for $2.49 each.
Thanks, Valve! As if you need more of my money! JUST TAKE IT! TAKE ALL OF MY MONEY!
Neat. I'm sure that my brother will enjoy this news.
Sonic CD > Sonic R > Sonic 4 > Sonic 2006.
I think the solution would be to make a new Sonic... maybe with Jared's face...
Sonic R > Sonic 2006
OLD SONIC IS BETTER THAN NEW SONIC RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE
But the freaking Sonic CD asks for 1Gig of memory... my PC will suffer... anyway, I don't like old Sonic...
I actually bought and played through the Steam version of Sonic CD earlier today. The computer version runs very smoothly and plays well.
It's a good game but if you expecting something better then sonic 3&K hold your breath. The only reason people were so disappointed was because it called it self sonic 4. If it had any other title then there wouldn't have been the mass hate for the game. While it may feel sluggish it's not hard to pick up speed if you use the air dash trick.
Personally, for me, it wasn't. I bought it for the PS3, played some but didn't like it. Obviously people are going to probably bash on my response, but whatever, it's my opinion, lol. Just for continuity, I enjoyed all the numbered version on the Sega. Sonic 1 was fun, Sonic 2 was better and the Sonic 3 and Knuckles made the game a treat. I had Sonic CD a long time ago and was very pleased with it.
Anyways, this was the first new sonic game I've played since Sonic Adventures 2 for the Gamecube (surprise surprise, I didn't care for that game, even thought it has been hailed as one of the best after the 2D era). For me, Sonic 4 was more frustrating than fun and also very boring. The music is ok but some are very monotone like the Lost Labyrinth theme. A lot of the jumps can be a pain if you don't get fast enough. Hence where I had most of my issues.
This is the only thing I can't understand with Episode 4. There are so many jumps that you can't make unless you go fast enough but you can't get quick enough in some areas for the jumps which forced me to use the jump that thrusts you forward. Ehh, I just didn't care for it and I've played the Sonic games when they first came around back in the very early 90's.
Honestly, I think Sonic Generations is a far better game in regards to overall gameplay.
Sonic Generations for only $15? So...very...TEMPTING!
So you'd get 2 of the newest soninc games for under $30.00? WIN!!!
Sonic CD > Sonic 4 > Sonic 2006.
Took the words right outta my mouth - TAKE MY MONEY, VALVE!
I've played all the Classic Sonic games from a DS port...except for CD. I might get Sonic CD and see what I'm missing.
Honestly I think it's a great game that so many people didn't like because of the physics and how similar everything was to the first couple of games.
Sonic 4 is ok, not as great as 2D parts of Generations, but at least better that Heroes, for example. Its more like a remake than an actual sequel. I hope Sega will do everything right with Episode 2 and will do it on Generations engine.
DAMN IT STEAM!!! You go and have this awesome sale, and right when I've got to pay my dentist to fix a chipped tooth.
great, was planning on getting it, But from what I've seen, most people didn't like it. But it was mostly the sonic fanboys that said that
I liked it, personally. I think people are too down on it.
Is Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode 1 worth getting? I still haven't got it yet.
