Controversy Continues to Surround War Z

12/18/12 3:24pm

Developer Hammerpoint has launched the "Foundation Release" of the stand alone Zombie survival MMO, that borrows HEAVILY from the Arma 2 mod Day Z, on Steam. Priced at $15 the "foundation" version is the next step towards the full release. However, be warned the description is quite misleading as it lists the features of the unreleased full game. With no mention whatsoever that you're actually receiving an incomplete version.

Reddit user xlephon was kind enough to point out the differences in the following image.

This is just the latest in a string of shady incidents surrounding War Z. How do you feel about it?

This whole game seemed shady from the get-go but this is just ridiculous...

looks like the description on the game is now edited. it has had a few tweaks (likely due to people screaming fraud) though not everything cited here as inaccurate was fixed. not liking this at all.

you know, at this point it's just safer to avoid this game altogether.

Was it so hard to not fuck this up? they had a good thing going and managed to just screw it all up.

Seriously this could have been a big hit if they actually managed to one up the Day Z which didnt seem so hard cuz that dude didnt have the entire backing of developers and funding from publishers

Normally, I'm not one back lawsuits, but in this case of outright deceit and fraud? Hammerpoint should get the pants sued off them.

Pretty shady of the developers to do that since they could have just easily asterisked some of those features and said they were coming as future updates.

This is what we call false advertising.
