I've been dating my gamer girl for a 1 year and 2 months. I met her at a pokemon tournament and something just clicked after getting to know each other. We tend to play games together, and if its ever against we never actually fall out or get upset.

Tbh, she's more of a gamer then i'll ever be. The amout of stuff she's done in skyrim. Ive not even done half the stuff she has in that game xD

On my side, I started to just play co-op game, Contra, team fortress 2 (be on her side the whole time), even WoW (yes i went there), or upcoming Diablo 3

i really don't get playing versus games, why are you trying to beat up your gf? Unless shes into those kinda games, thats ok, just my opinion here.

Yeah the last part might be cheesy, but true, pick a chick just cos shes hot and thats it can lead to somethign bad.

Very nice, and also very valid points. All you need to do is find that one game. For my girlfriend, it's Twisted Metal.

My husband has never beat me at Mario Kart. :) Not that I ever, ever rub that in - hahaha! All jokes aside, it is nice to have someone who shares your interests. My husband has introduced me to games I probably would have never played without him.

On a side note, I disagree with the whole "gamer girl" labeling. What does that even mean? I would not tell someone that I am a "gamer girl" even though I have been playing my entire life. I also do not classify myself as a "jock", "hipster", etc either. Just because a girl (or guy!) doesn't define themselves as a "gamer" doesn't mean they don't play. Labels are for high school. This is not a dig at this specific podcast, just a general vent about the subject. :)

She uses that term verbatim. I believe the term still exists just because gaming is still seen as mainly a male demographic, but this issue has been talked about numerous times in just the last month so I'll just say it's never used as a derogatory term in my use. I use it to classify a very awesome, very cool, and very special kind of person who doesn't care what the demographic says.
