DC to release comic explaining the backstory of InJustice: Gods Among Us

During his time at the EB Expo in Sydney, Australia, NetherRealm co-founder Ed Boon presented a demo for the studio’s upcoming fighter and take on the DC Universe, InJustice: Gods Among Us. As he showed off the demo, he announced that the studio is working with DC on a special comic that will cover the events leading up to the game.

Boon said NetherRealms is hoping that through the comic and game, it can carve its own niche within the storied history of the DC Universe.

“With a game like Mortal Kombat, so many things spawned from there, like the movie. Obviously the extreme version is it would spawn a lot more things, but I know for sure we are making an InJustice comic."

He concluded by saying he hopes gamers and DC fans alike will embrace the InJustice cannon as much as they did the Arkham cannon.

Will InJustice meet these high standards? We’ll have to wait until the game launches in April to know for sure. I think it shows a lot of promise as the game looks like a lot of fun to play and the darker tone should fit the DC Universe like a glove but that’s my take on it anyway.

What do you think g1s? Is InJustice capable of meeting these lofty expectations?
