Developer states that the Wii U can handle Dead Island: Riptide

tl;dr

Developer states that the game runs well on Wii U despite what their higher ups said.

Last week it was stated that Dead Island: Riptide won't be coming to Wii U because it would require the team to re-work the game for the platform. Well it seems Deep Sliver is full of shit, because developer Techland states that the game runs fine. At least according to Techland International brand manager Blazej Krakowiak who says

"Chrome Engine runs on Wii U without any problems. We tested and confirmed that long time ago, back in 2012. While it's true that Nintendo's latest console would be a new platform for us, there were simply no plans to develop a Wii U version, but that decision has nothing to do with a need to rewrite our engine."

He finished off by stating that it was up to Deep Sliver "to discuss if they so choose" to have a Wii U version made. Seems like we have another  Crysis 3 situation.

In other words, the developer is listening to a bunch of ignorant anti-Nintendo fantards when deciding how to run their business. Then again, this game is basically a poor man's L4D so it's not like they're one to talk about what's "not worth it" and what isn't.

Similar thing happened with the Wii when ports were shitty, people said the system would fail and now its looked back on with great intentions. Basically the same thing happened with the 3DS last year too, and I won't be surprised if the Wii U makes an awesome come back next year.

This E3, they're going to show trailers for many new games. It WILL have a comeback.

Don't compare this to Crysis 3. This is more on the decision of the developer not wanting to develop for the console. Where in Crysis 3's situation, EA were bitter bitches about it because Nintendo didn't want their online service to be plagued with Origin which is why they decided not to release it on Wii U despite the game being done on the platform with a better engine making it the better console version. Two different scenarios right here.

I really hope something happens at EA, i don't them to go belly up or something that hurt the employers, but i want something bad to happen to the people who run EA.

The worst that can probably come form them is maybe being bought by another company.

Another instance where the publisher feels it won't make money on X platform because they're not willing to take a chance. You gotta spend money to make money, and WiiU owners are starved for games, you'll almost call it a win.....by DEFAULT

Exactly why Square-Enix is releasing Deus Ex:HR - Wii U owners want games. I bought the Warriors Orochi 3 Hyper (sort-of)port because it was on sale and my library was(is) looking lousy.

You win by default, you aren't competing with ANY strong 1st party Nintendo software. Oh well, back to Nintendoland... damn stupid Donkey Kong game.
