Two Tribes, the developer behind Toki Tori 2+ had some unfortunate news for Wii U owners who were looking forward to the game’s free level editor update. As it turns out, due to a combination of financial issues caused by disappointing sales and technical issues caused by the desired Miiverse integration and attempts to convert the assets from the PC version, the development of this feature has been put on hold indefinitely.
The studio attempted to solve this issue by adding Steam support to the Wii U version but after discussing it with Valve and Nintendo, the developers discovered it just wasn’t possible. However, this has lead the developers to come to a fair and rather generous compromise.
Toki Tori fans who bought the game for their Wii U can acquire a free code for the Steam version, which has the level editor built in.

Granted, it’s not the preferred method for giving Wii U owners this feature but considering the circumstances, it’s a pretty fine and generous solution.
