Dishonored is shaping up to be GOTY competition
I had the pleasure of sitting in a dark room on the press floor of QuakeCon and getting a sneak peek into Arkane Studios new IP Dishonored last year. While that preview didn’t make it onto the new version of ScrewAttack (though I am still looking for a back-up) let me dig into my brain and explain a little about the world. Essentially Dishonored is a tale of a lone assassin in an otherworldly city called Dunwall. There is a plague that has taken hold of its citizens and you are tasked with eliminating top city officials to incite a revolution. The game allows you to decide in each mission, how you will confront your target, and whether or not you kill them.
Besides the obvious maritime influenced aesthetic, the world seems to have merged technology and magic to create something unique. Players will be able to access various abilities that will aid in the completion of your mission objectives and your methods in doing so will have ethical implications. Sure most of the story of Dishonored is still shrouded in secrecy, but looking through these screens will at least help build the world in your mind. The game will be played from a first-person perspective and reminded me of BioShock and Thief. Hopefully we will learn more soon, as Dishonored is expected to release sometime this year. Enjoy the screens!

I approve of this
I don't want to use past work as a measure of expectations, but if you look at who specifically is working this game it does have the potential to be something HUGE.

Looks interesting.

Kinda reminds me of an alternate reality London with some Bioshock and Half-Life 2 influence. Looks like its going to be the next big hit, loving the artstyle so far.

This actually looks really awesome! I hope to see some more from this so that it doesn't get forgotten and hidden behind the usual over hyped stuff.
