Disney reveals Disney Infinity and prepares to make a ton of money
Skylanders has been an incredible success story for Activision and video games in general. It was only a matter of time before another company took that idea and ran with it. Enter Disney Infinity, a new multi-platform game bringing together characters from both Disney and Pixar universes.
Scheduled for a June release, the game will boast 40 collectable toys (17 which are characters) that will add to a users overall experience. Characters will be customizable and Disney will also sell Disney Infinity Power Discs to give characters “unique powers, customizations and gadgets”.
Avalanche Software is developing the game, but as Disney rep John Pleasants notes, "Disney Infinity is not a single game". Disney obviously wants this to be a platform for their action figures and play sets that can be used on consoles, mobile games, and in browsers. The “platform” will launch with three play sets from the worlds of The Incredibles, Monsters Inc., and Pirates of the Caribbean. Enjoy the trailer.

It seems like it could have more potential than Skylanders, Given the other properties Disney has (Star Wars and Marvel) It'll be interesting to see how this game turns out Methinks

Perry the Platypus side by side with Jack Skellington and Buzz Lightyear. This sounds like more fun than Skylanders and something my daughter would enjoy quite a bit more.

Further proof everything I've ever cared about is dieing, hard. Screwattack is full of fucking morons, when I remember the days it, well, wasn't. Disney (and cartoons in general) is going so far down hill they've sped past Walt himself, games are fucking burning, and even my newest care in the world is dying thanks to people like Sendo there.
I mean really. I thought it was bad enough that Skylanders got away with it by dragging Spyro's name and games through the mud, but now I come on and see you idiots all bowing at Disney's feet because CLEARLY this is going to be awesome! No. This is just a money grab made to pander to children, and stupid jackasses like you all. At least the children can be forgiven. They don't know any better.

I'm reminded someone points out that gamers seriously need to police our own... Sadly, 'gamers' are, by and large, a bunch of self-entitled dip-shits now-a-days. Disagree? Look at the ME3 ending fiasco. "Oh, boo hoo! This ending isn't what I wanted, CHANGE IT!" The medium, the art form I loved is dying.
