Dragon’s Dogma announces demo with exportable characters

3/6/12 2:00pm

As we are finally beginning to enter the spring season it is time to start gearing up for summer releases. Yeah, video games are unrelenting when it comes to managing your time. So start penciling in some demo time for May 22nd in North America and May 25th in Europe with Dragon’s Dogma. The Demo will be coming to both Xbox 360 and PS3 in advance of the games release and will let you spend time with a couple of character classes (Pawns) that will be in your party.

The Fighter is a melee specialist who will square off against the Chimera, while the Strider is a rogue-like character whose daggers and bow must be used to take down the mighty Griffin. Fans of the demo that go on to purchase the game will be able to export these two characters into the full game. That is a pretty nifty feature that is similar to the one we saw back in the lead up to Dead Rising 2. I would like to see more games do this as an alternative to the DLC promised by EA in their recent releases, but what do the g1s think? Let us know in the comments.

Doesn't look bad so I'll keep an eye on it.

Also content rewarding demos is such a great idea.

That's pretty neat. Way better than flushing out DLC with every new release.
