Dragon’s Dogma to get new modes this holiday and an expansion in 2013
Capcom is bringing Dragon’s Dogma a fair amount of DLC over the next few months and into DLC. The specific DLC coming before the end of the year will test player skills adding two additional modes, Speedrun and Hard Mode. Hard Mode increases difficulty for better loot, while Speedrun will have players competing to beat the game quickly for new equipment.
Then in 2013, Capcom will be releasing Dragon’s Dogma Dark Arisen, thought they do not have many details to share with us at this time. Damn. I thought that the "Speedrun" mode that was mentioned in text would be like the much need "Fast Travel" option you had in Skyrim but you didn't have in Dogma.
I'm serious when I say this, I truly believe Dragon's Dogma could have dethroned Skyrim as THE RPG of the decade if it had just added steeds or a better traveling system. Of course, the in game dialog is annoying as hell too but at least you can mute that. But just like Jared and Angry Joe have pointed out, you just find yourself running into exhaustion just to get to the next town that takes WAY more time than it's really worth.
Either way, I still love the game. I hope it improves in the future.
