Dragonball Absalon looks really good
We are all waiting to see the next Death Battle's episode, a fierce clash between two of the most powerful and beloved aliens, Goku and Superman. It’s going to be awesome.
While waiting for that to become a reality, the awakened nostalgia led me to go see Dragon Ball related stuff. There I was on Youtube when I found a video by the user mellavelli: Dragonball Absalon Episode 1
I don't know if any of you have already seen this, but nonetheless, I felt that it would be nice to share this video. This is a non-profit fan animation that doesn't look like a traditional Dragon Ball cartoon, but it looks really awesome. Congratulations to the group who made this happen.
To conclude this blog post, I hope that Goku wins the next Death Battle.
Above all, I think it's a pretty good show, I mean for those of you who don't know it takes a lot of work and effort to make a tv show better yet to keep it on time, so for this to be fan made is pretty amazing, I mean people have tried before to continue GT through their own type of fan made ideas, people like AF and etc., but the story was never truly good or made since, or the characters were never in character, I mean it's pretty hard to spin off something as bad as GT, also considering that these guys doing Absalon aren't getting paid, and as for the backstory give it some time, they're not going to tell all their plans in the first episode, so give it a chance, although it could be better, no man can make something completely perfect, I bet you that this show will expand into something huge that we will remember for years to come!
I'm hoping for SSJ Pan
I think its really cool, they did a good job for a fan made series, I'll watch the next one too when it comes out, the plot actually looks like it could go somewhere good so far. like the music too
I don't think it is heavy on the melodrama at all, Dragonball Z and GT were much heavier on emotion rather than action. I think this mini-series has a pretty good balance and some reasonable connections that could made between the characters. I think this is a great idea or start of an even greater idea. maybe a REAL MOVIE. But all in all, I think this is great work.
I think anyone who critiques this isn't being demanding but reasonable. If they put this level of effort into anything else, I would give it the same level of criticism that I gave it here because honestly, this isn't that good. Interesting, but is in need of a lot of improvement.
the story is actually intriguing, but as others have already said, to much out of nowhere and not enough contextualization, the sound is off the whole time as the background music is louder than most characters voices, and the bunny eared enemy is just too annoying and takes effort to understand due to his voice's pitch. I just hope the creator aren't put down by all of this, it's dragonball we're talking about, of course people are demanding with it.
Too heavy on the melodrama, no back story on the existing characters (what else have they've been doing other than training, how and when did Pan learn the instant transmission, where's Videl, etc.) and nothing on the new ones (ther good ones, the bad one can come in at their own time, we need to know who the good ones are), don't know some of the characters because they are so radically different (this is why the first few episodes of an anime tend to be exposition), the voice acting was subpar (the Jar Jar Binks sounding character is jsut annoying), and the animation (which I assume will get better) is decent but will get some getting used to. The premise to the story seems ok but I will have to know how it all ties in to the rest of the story to say anything else on it. All in all, not a good first episode.
O God nooooooooooooooo what is jar jar binks doing in here?
this is basically dbz if nicolodeon got their hands on it and made it into a cartoon
It will take a while to get use to the flash animation, but I'm surprised Toi animation hasn't come up to do Dragonball like this.
Holy crap, that was pretty good.
Pretty sweet, I want more!
It does seem very promising.
Not really. First episode of DBZ, they let us get caught up with the main cast of DB, introduce the twist, and gave motivation for the villain. GT, they let us get caught up with Goku, introduce the twist, and introduce the motivation for the first storyline.
This, it just gave us an abridged version of what a few of them were doing and jumped to the villains arriving. I know it is a fan series, but pacing could help it out more.
When did supersayins become so damn pointless, the hell was that, super sayin 27. god damnit.. no I didnt like this really, animation is great, but everything is typical fan fiction garbarge
As ive been watching the entirety of the dragon ball Universe recently (just about to finish the Cell games).. There is alot of fan inspirations but i don't know. I think ill give it a watch for sure as alot of hard work is put into this.. but it will be nothing fun speculations and hopes to me... Though the Villian i like for some reason.
A bit overdramatic for DB standards, but an impressive effort all the same.
Fantastic. Little too much for the first episode though. Also, the pacing is a kind of quick and the so-so, that is compared to Dragonball Z which in comparison has very slow pacing and as well a so-so story. Great job though, really good
This is really good. cant wait to see more.
True, but if this were like the actual Dragon Ball series, the plot would take around 10 episodes just to get started XD
