Eidos Montreal making sure stealth and non-lethal play-throughs stay intact with Thief's reboot
Even though Thief 4 is being planned as both a way to reboot the series and its stealth aspect, Eidos Montreal reiterates it will still be possible to play the new game similar to previous games in the series.
While most reboots have dramatic changes, Eidos stated they are making sure the ability to play the game entirely in a non-lethal way will remain intact for Thief 4.
Similar to Deus Ex: Human Revolution, the game will provide several different outcomes possible for certain situations as a way to provide different game play styles being possible. It also allows Edios Montreal to cater to a wider variety of people ranging from the series hardcore to newcomers and those who favor action to those who favor stealth.

Honestly I hope "non lethal" doesn't equate to "hit them with the sleeping dart/blackjack" one of the funnest things about thief was getting through the robbing places blind and stealing the keys off guards with them ever knowing you were there.
