Epic Games expects first games using Unreal 4 Engine to arrive by late 2014
The general manager of Epic Games EU branch, Mike Gamble, stated during a recent interview with Edge that the company expects the first games running on the Unreal 4 Engine to arrive by late 2014. The company is targeting the Christmas holiday period as the release for the first batch of games with the next batch to be released by early 2015.
Besides Epic Games themselves, several studios were also revealed to be currently developing games with Microsoft, Irrational Games, BioWare, and Rocksteady among the group. The split between new IPs and existing series was teased to be in the 50-70% range in favor of new IPs for the games currently in development.
Gamble stated the company will be revealing more details about these games and the Unreal 4 Engine itself during this year's upcoming GDC expo.
