Even more Star Wars movies??? [UPDATE] - Nope!

1/14/13 9:01pm

UPDATE: Snyder's agent denied this report. So much for that!

Zack Snyder, the man behind fun slow-mo action films like 300, Watchmen, and the upcoming (an surely slow-mo filled) Man of Steel is set to direct an additional Star Wars movie.

The film will be set in the Star Wars galaxy and will be a loose adaptation of Akira Kurosawa's samurai epic Seven Samurai. Swap out the samurai and ronin with Jedi and lightsabers and you've got me throwing wads of cash at my monitor.

This won't be a numbered entry and will begin production sometime after Disney begins work for 2015's Episode VII. Disney CEO Bob Iger did say he wants to release Star Wars movies every couple years, so this would naturally fit into his plan.

Are any of you g1s as pumped as I am? Admittedly, Snyder isn't the world's greatest director *cough cough Sucker Punch* but he does make cool action sequences. Let us know how pumped you are in the comments!

Isn't that his movies were successful, like 300? So, I guess, let's just see this time what type of star wars movie his talent would create. - Scott Sohr

No one wants to touch Star Wars. Your directing career will be over once the new Star Wars movies receive negative feedback.

I'm more scared then anything. They're making Star Wars movies to move the money train, not cause they have an amazing movie script. Same reason Avengers wasn't as good as it should have been.

If you have seen Seven Samurai, then you will know that it has little to do with Star Wars. It was influenced by The Hidden Fortress, not Seven Samurai.

That said, it could have made for an awesome film. Especially when you have a director as stylish as Zack Snyder. But alas...

They already did a Star Wars movie based on Seven Samurai.

It was called STAR WARS.

Also, wasn't this officially denied or something?
