Final Fantasy III coming to Steam soon

5/10/14 11:40am

Final Fantasy III is coming to Steam soon.

The Steam version of the game will feature new improvements like new 3D visuals and story sequences, new visuals for the Job Mastery Cards, quicker browsing through the monster bestiary and updated graphics.

It will get some sweet Steam features as well. Fans can earn achievements and collect Steam Trading Cards through play.

According to rumors last month, Square Enix’s classic JRPG was coming to Windows PC. The rumor began when the title appeared in a listing on the German Entertainment Software Self-Regulation Board on April 2. The game was listed to be multilingual, which suggested a global release.

Final Fantasy III joins a growing list of Final Fantasy titles on Valve’s Steam platform. Square released Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VIII last year through Steam. Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VIII were originally released for PC in the ‘90s, but the port for Final Fantasy VIII suffered from several glitches. You can always read about it from the perspective of someone who tested the PC version before release by buying this Amazon Kindle book.

Add Steam to the growing list of Final Fantasy III platform releases. You can check out the game's Steam page while waiting for it to release.

Do you plan to buy a copy?
