Former Naughty Dog devs join Infinity Ward, continues this year’s developer shuffle
Former Naughty Dog developers Taylor Kurosaki and Jacob Minkoff joined Infinity Ward, both men revealed yesterday.
Kurosaki joined as Infinity Ward’s new narrative director while Minkoff stepped in as design director. Both men worked extensively on the Uncharted series and The Last of Us.
Very psyched to share that I've joined the phenomenal team at @InfinityWard as the studio's narrative director. To infinity and beyond!— Taylor Kurosaki (@taylorkurosaki) August 1, 2014
New job! Design Director at Infinity Ward. Love ND; can’t wait to play Uncharted 4 as a fan. Excited to work with the talented team at IW!— Jacob Minkoff (@JacobMinkoff) August 1, 2014
These changes continue the long list of developer shuffles in 2014. Former Naughty Dog art director Nate Wells went to Giant Sparrow, former game director Justin Richmond went to Riot Games, and Uncharted writer Amy Hennig went to Electronic Arts and Visceral Games to write a new Star Wars game.
Outside of Naughty Dog, former Crytek lead graphics engineer Tiago Sousa joined id Software in July, former Valve VR lead Atman Binstock joined Oculus in March and former Valve research and development chief Michael Abrash joined Oculus as chief scientist in March.
Do you think developer changes like this impacts yearly released, “set in stone” games like Call of Duty?
