Funimation has announced that they've acquired the rights to distribute the Bayonetta anime here in the United States and Canada. Entitled Bayonetta: Bloody Fate, the full-length feature film comes from Studio GONZO, the team behind the Emmy award winning Afro Samurai. The story seems to embody the original plot line from the game and furthers the universe that the shape-shifting witch inhabits.

For those interested in a sneak peek, Anime Expo will be hosting Director Fuminori Kizaki as its guest of honor this July for a first look at the English dub. If you can't make it out to LA though, maybe you'll get to see it yourself at SGC 2014. Funimation is our movie room sponsor after all... Here's the Japanese trailer for the movie's reveal.
