g1 Community's Top 10 g1s of 2012!
Hey there, g1s! It is finally time for this list. Announced way back in January right after the g1 of the Year was revealed. Saddened by the fact that voting was removed, we decided to do it ourselves... in a top 10 format! More specifically, a Community List!
Don't get us wrong, we're not complaining about the SA staff's decision. If you read the update blog a posted a little while back, you know the true purpose of this list is to acknowledge those g1s that stood out by making this community a better place this past year. And to encourage others to work hard as well!
The way this list works is, people submitted their top 10 g1s of 2012 and I then tallied up all the votes. That's it. A few of the g1s have included comments/reasons for their picks as well.
So without further ado - the top 10!
10. Fox

Shiznita |
"When I first became a person of the forums, Fox had always scared me. I think it was because of his sig/avatar combo at the time -which I can’t remember for the life of me. >.> Anywho, he had aways been that person who you never wanted to get on the bad side of! Like in Mafia. Especially in Mafia. Man is he scary in mafia… *shudder* So g1ad comes along and he decides to stop by…and then he’s suddenly this really cool person…who had a face! And a voice! And an epic collection of video games! And a need for alcohol like no |
Our own master of Power Hours, Fox is the one that, if I recall correctly, first brought the largest amount of people to g1ad…with a simple Power Hour. It was like magic, everyone coming along, people who I’ve never seen! People coming just to hang out! Cyrax, CanadianBrony, Fanboy, Chaotic, Alex, and so many other people who just came to just have fun, hang out, and laugh at the random shenanigans of the drunk folk who were broadcasting! Fox brings the party, and he’s a cool dude for it~" |
Smoke108 |
"The grand admin of our fair forums. Not only can he get the job done, but he has the time to hang with the g1s whether it is through Mafia, or g1 After Dark. He is a cool cat, who helps keep the peace on the site." |
9. REVULSIVE / Ferret75

REVULSIVE:
LousyTactician |
"You all knew he'd be on this list somewhere! The work Revulsive does is legendary! He is the now famous/infamous g1 known for finding any video footage or image of the Screwattack staff available, and bastardizing that footage to hell, to make some of the most hilarious gifs across all of the internet! If you think that DOESN'T play a significant role in keeping this community entertained, delete your Screwattack account NOW! You have no understanding of what it means to be a g1! |
Aside from the funny as hell images and gifs he makes, Revulsive also has some surprisingly interesting thoughts on many people's favorite video game franchises like Ace Attorney and Silent Hill. The fact that he remained with the Screwattack community despite the departure of his favorite staff member, Jared, shows how dedicated of a g1 he is. The blog he made for Jared's farewell also happens to be one of the best write-ups I've ever seen on this site!" |
LineBeckIV |
"He makes super sexy pics of the SA crew, nuff said." |
Ferret75:
LousyTactician |
"My constant bickering with Ferret on g1 After Dark has become so common, I made an entire blog joking about it, but by the end of the day I truly appreciate how great of a g1 he is, and the content he contributes to the Screwattack site. Always ready to write long analyses of games, Ferret has shown his talent in looking deep into the contents of media whether it be in his writing or through talking about movies and video games on g1 After Dark. It would be nice if a few more of those aforementioned analyses were not related to Majora's Mask, but I cannot deny that the blogs he has made about Majora's Mask are excellent. It takes much more than your average g1 to get me to think so hard about defending one of my favorite games (ClockTower) that I write a 2000+ word write-up on it." |
darkhyrulelord |
"Ferret75 has been one of the most positive g1s of 2012, and he is very active to boot. His many blogs also add a whopping amount to the community as well. Ferret75 often has great conversations with g1s over Twitter and other events and isn't afraid to help out if it's needed. Talking with him over vide game topics is most enjoyable. Ferret is generally a very nice g1 to be around and he always seems to add a level of good atmosphere as well. He is also an active forum user as well. |
Ferret75 enjoys writing and the amount of blogs he shares on this site show it. I can just imagine the massive amount of time/work required to make these fantastic blogs and its very generous of him to provide us with such great work. It astounds me to this day of just HOW much great thoughts and ideas he has over Majora's Mask. But Majora's Mask isn't the only thing he discusses--he talks about book reviews, Sonic, Ecco the Dolphin, and much more. I urge you--no---COMMAND you to read his material and to support his work. ....please? Not only does Ferret75 create elaborate blogs on a constant basis, but he also creates highly entertaining videos and playthroughs of his favorite games. However, Ferret75 goes the extra mile and even takes on g1 challenges on a constant basis. (From what I recall,) he has managed to conquer many of them with no sweat just like the awesome g1 he is. Indeed, Ferret75 has gone above and beyond over the course of 2012." |
Canadian Brony |
"Ferret is a person I enjoy talking to. I can have insightful conversations with him which can even lead to friendly debates. He has good morals which is rare to see in someone on the internet and I admire him for it. He's a good g1 role-model." |
8. Debaser

Shiznita |
"This scary dude right here. He makes sure that this site is squeaky clean…well…he makes sure that we scamps don’t scuff the finish and eave our crap on the floor or kill each other in the night. Debaser is just one of those admins who takes no crap, but can still be cool with you…as long as you know what you’re taking about and not being a jerk to anyone else. He’s the stern but kind principal who’ll let things slide if he knows that you’re better than that, but he’ll slap you in the face if you’re straight up wrong. |
He’s well known on the forums and is seen on the mainsite. He helps mod the twitch chat from time to time, often giving his banhammer a well deserved workout! The best part about this guy is that he knows that he’s talking about. When Debaser says something, you’d better shut up and listen because there’s learning about to happen here whether you like it or not~" |
Elmo 3000 |
"Debaser is one of ScrewAttack's most active Administrators, and the fact that he remains such a presence on the site despite having to deal with more behind-the-scenes stuff than anyone here, including me, realises, means that his dedicated efforts also rarely get him the thanks he deserves. This was also the last year he hosted his own website, DebasedToThis, which was as much an online home as ScrewAttack was, filled with many big names g1s might find familiar. |
The site was up until December 2012, which means that for nearly all of last year, Debaser was managing to juggle his own website, and his ScrewAttack Admin duties. Considering that I could barely keep up with my duties as an editor for the ScrewAttack Magazine for a couple of months, I... genuinely believe that the only way he can handle all of these responsibilities is that he's superhuman or part robot. In either case, I think he deserves the title." |
7. 2200

Mr. West |
"... ... ... ... |
... ... ... ... ... Does anything else need to be said? Kidding aside, the g1 Community Lists were probably my favorite thing to come out of the main site this year, so I have to give mad props to the guy that started it. In addition to that, he does a superb job as a g1ad mod." |
Shiznita |
"2200…the man in the mask. The faceless and mostly voiceless Canadian moderator of g1afterdark…to everyone’s dismay. >.> But you do care~ When there’s a spotlight or anything coming out, you’re there to always make sure that the forums get their part in it~ You make sure that we have a place in that strange world known as the mainsite. You let people dink around on your minecraft server for hours on end, and shenanigans are had. =3 I dunno…I want to say more… You’re cool folk 2200! And one day you will reveal yourself and it will be so monumental that the forums with break and tinychat wil crash and the internet will implode! So do it already~" |
darkhyrulelord |
"2200 is much like Flapperdoodle: doing the impossible and pulling massive and impressive collabs with a myriad of g1s and with helping out with the ambitious g1 Features. |
He has been the leading component behind the inspiring g1 Community lists of all sorts. Again, I can imagine the amount of collaboration and work involved to be able to do these ambitious lists and I urge you to check them out. ....In fact....I'm sure that this entry in of itself will be a part of his newest community list and I'm glad that I could be a part. Or better yet, I'm glad to have been a part of his many other lists as well and that many others have helped to make the community lists to be as great as they are. 2200 also helps out in other g1 projects (especially g1 features) and any content that he has produced is always great. He shares links from g1 content as well and is a friendly g1 in general. 2200 also is a frequent forum user and takes part in the forum games (he has 64% of all posts in that games, which is mighty impressive) at a regularly basis and help make that section of ScrewAttack a very enjoyable part. In fact, I'm sure that many people have joined the forum games thanks to him (including me), which is great. I also recall 2200 consistently sharing links on g1 events and other such important community projects. 2200 is certainly an awesome g1 when it comes to 2012 and I'm sure it shall be the same for many years henceforth." |
6. Tom the Iron Man

Mr. West |
"Err...I guess this seems a bit redundant, voting for the guy that’s already won. Ah, but whatever. Tom is definitely one of the best g1s of all time, let alone of this year. His and Shelby’s streams are always a great place for g1s of all sorts. While I, like most everyone else, was disappointed with the staff choosing g1 of the year by themselves, it was a damn good choice." |
Elmo 3000 |
"I have to admit that I was a little worried when I heard that this year's g1 of the year wasn't voted for by g1s, but when I heard who had won it, I was relieved to know that it was definitely in good hands. I've seen Tom around, and from what I've seen, he's basically the Mr Rogers of ScrewAttack - you hear about him and you're kind of doubtful because you don't believe somebody could be that friendly but then you talk to him and suddenly all your preconceptions about the limits of friendliness explode. Tom is a great guy and as part of the ScrewAttack community I can say that we're grateful to him and lucky to have him in equal measure." |
LousyTactician |
"So many people have complained about Tom The Iron Man winning g1 of The Year, but I'm honestly wondering WHY!? I may not be the most involved person when it comes to the man's streams or blogs, but they are undeniably DAMN GOOD streams and blogs! They have given me entertainment when I needed it, and the man is an all around nice guy. I might not rank him as high as other g1 of the year, but people must understand personal lists will always be different. There are many g1s who have captured the admiration and respect of the community, and Tom is one who has done that the most." |
darkhyrulelord |
"Tom is THE Iron Man of ScrewAttack. Tom has set more than a pristine example for a g1 in 2012 by consistently commenting, playing with other g1s online, giving help to others in times of need, and streaming regularly and pretty much just having a great time with other g1s. |
Tom always is such a positive influence on this site that it is no wonder that he has won g1 of the year for 2012 (again, congratulations!). So much so, in fact, that I'm pretty sure that he was a major factor for the SGC kickstarter to reach over the magic number of $100,000. He consistently gave positive support for others and gave advice to those that needed help in donating. I recall how the kickstarter didn't accept Paypal or something and others were confused in how to donate at the time. Tom offered to help those that had this type of problem. Tom's optimism the whole time probably was the main reason why the kickstarter succeeded. In other words, SGC3 may not have happened without him. Not that's pretty big. Tom also encourages g1 interaction and he succeeds with this by having a stream where many g1s can chat/battle with each other over the newest game/demo or Street Fighter 3. His streams are always entertaining I think that other g1s have a fun time as well. Extra points given to him on 2012 for attempting Battle Kid as well. Tom also helps others often if they need help with something and he enjoys having coversations with other g1s often over Twitter. He also shares many important links and details over the hottest SA material that the crew has to offer to spread the word about the site. Indeed, Tom may possibly put Mr. Stark to shame." |
5. Woodyman

Canadian Brony |
"2011's g1 of the Year still held up as a great g1 throughout 2012. His big community-oriented ideas are fun to take part in and he throws a mean tinychat party. Great g1, plain and simple." |
Smoke108 |
"Former g1 of the year. Not much has changed since his nominationes last year, but nothing really needed to change for his placement to be cemented. Another solid year of g1 spotlight, blogs, and forum attendance." |
LineBeckIV |
"He makes many a entertaining and creative Top 10's, and if you know me you'll know I love me some countdowns. Plus he's based on the most pwerful Robot Master known to man, so that always helps." |
Elmo 3000 |
"Hmmm... well, at least it's pretty easy to explain why Woodyman deserves as much recognition on the site as possible. Basically, you know all the awesome stuff he did that made him g1 of the year 2011? The g1 spotlight, Top 10s, Titanium Man of Flash Gaming? Well, he did it all again this year, and it was just as awesome. This just goes to show that some g1s can reach the point where they're literally doing everything they can for the site, and they can keep it up. T'was an honour to be part of Titanium Man of Flash Gaming this year. |
Even though I'm pretty sure I only finished 9th or something. Damn QWOP." |
darkhyrulelord |
"Woodyman certainly continues to live up to the name of being a g1 of the year even though it's 2012. He has still been going strong doing the things he does best: pretty much everything. After I hosted the Season 2 of the Titanium Man of Flash Gaming, Woodyman quickly took back the helm and made it better than ever with having about 50 something contestants. Since I hosted one season, I KNOW just how time-consuming it is for him to continue that great contest and I praise him for that. |
Woodyman also continues to be the man in charge of the g1 Spotlight, a massive blog that praises the work of many g1s EVERY SINGLE WEEK. Since there are 52 weeks in a year, this means that he has helped to edit 52 blogs (plus actually research and create a bunch himself when times are needed). Again, I myself have helped to research for this project a few times, and it is highly time consuming to do so. Having to research AND write the whole deal in a short amount of time is no small task. BUT! The results are most certainly worth it since the Spotlight continues to flourish (and be entertaining to read) to this very day. Oh, and I have only just begun. He also brought back Literary Luminary over the year and has hosted multiple g1 Tinychat parties during certain holidays. He also enjoys collabs with others and creates hilarious and enjoyable Top 10s on a regular basis. As if that's not enough, he also is a very active g1 member in blogs, Twitter, shows, and in the forums. Lastly, he also is the first g1 to ever get someone off the ring in the Royale Rumble. Like I said earlier, Woodyman pretty much does everything. He could put Guile to shame." |
4. Alpha Unit

Canadian Brony |
"A funnyman, a writer and a friend. Those three words sum up Alpha Unit entirely. I owe a lot to him because if it wasn't his g1 Interviews, I never would've been inspired to start FVGC! People thinks he's cool and he knows it. Keep up the great work Alpha!" |
southsing |
"The Robin Williams of Screwattack. When hes not making blogs or comments that are always funny to read, he is busy concocting up an evil scheme, or making his next blog or something." |
LousyTactician |
"I have no words to effectively describe how great of a g1 I consider Alpha Unit to be! He was one of the top 3 contenders for best g1 of 2011, despite having been a g1 for only several months at the time, and was very worthy of being among those contenders. Ever since then Alpha Unit has done nothing, but convince me he is more and more worthy of being g1 of the year, and my favorite g1 on the site! If there is a blog, news article, or g1 event worth one's time Alpha Unit will be there to comment, and chances are he'll be involved with it to some degree. Even if someone makes a blog that isn't all that good, you will most likely see a comment by him,and chances are it will be an encouraging comment! |
I know it isn't good to compare g1s (even though that's exactly what I've been doing with this list), but I think Alpha Unit has on average been contributing the equivalent of 10 dedicated g1s. I've defended Tom the Iron Man, claiming he, like any dedicated g1, is more than worthy of the g1 of the year title he was given. I stand by that, however, if Alpha Unit doesn't make g1 of the year sometime during his career as a Screwattack g1 I will live the life of a very sad tactician. From his interview series (that I hope has a successful reboot), to his childhood comics, to his entertaining feed updates, to his random ass blogs, Alpha Unit is undoubtedly the 'Alpha Male' of the Screwattack community, and my pick for best g1 of 2012!" |
darkhyrulelord |
"Alpha Unit, much like in 2011, has been a very active g1 since day 1. |
Most notably for 2012, he has played a big role in the g1 Interviews on a weekly basis. From my memories of Skype conversations with other g1s, while they are highly enjoyable and are lots of fun, they DO eat up TONS of time. A simple conversation can take many hours. Editing these conversations by deleting loads of timestamps also takes up time. Add this up with how often Alpha Unit has produced these interview blogs and it is quite mind-blowing as to how much effort he has put in to provide greatness to the community. Alpha has also posted many other blogs with humor and entertainment that has certainly added to the community section of ScrewAttack. And that's not all! Alpha Unit also talks with many g1s over Twitter and his sense of humor is one to be desired. Alpha's humor adds much to the great atmosphere of SA conversations and SA wouldn't be the same without him. He also is very active when it comes to commenting on g1 material and I'm pretty sure that he tries his best to comment on every blog that he can. His ambition is most inspiring for me and probably other g1s as well. Here's hoping that he will continue to deliver great content for many years afterwards." |
3. JETZ.acx

Smoke108 |
"JETZ has put a lot of work into a number of projects over the last year including g1 events and g1 features, both very important series of the past year." |
Dark Magician |
"Jetz man, you are a workhorse. You are the guy behind the scenes making everything possible." |
Elmo 3000 |
"Between the g1 Digital Forecast, the community podcast SIDETRACKED, and his own videos and blogs, JETZ.acx is one of the most hardworking people on the site, and there's no doubt in my mind that he would've been one of the final few nominees if g1 of the year was up for vote this year. If he keeps up the great work, I wouldn't be surprised if he was g1 of the year 2013, so good luck, and thanks to him for a great year of content!" |
SideSmash |
"It's been a long time since I've seen someone as dedicated to the Nation as the Jetzman. He's responsible for initiating the g1 Digital Forecast, as well as set up the "g1 Features" and "g1 Events" channel. Honestly, I'm starting to wonder just how many hours he's put in to the content he receives no monetary value for on the site. It's been a good year for the Nation, and I point to JETZ as one of the g1's responsible for making so great." |
Shiznita |
"Jetz, my friend. I do not know you well, but I know you’ve got the right idea in that head of yours. What you do for this community, both forum and mainsite just show how much you really do care about how things are going here. When all that mess happened with the g1oty, you already had pland in motion to give the g1s a chance to actually voice their opinions about who they really believe deserves to be recognized here. I know it’s not much, but it really makes me respect you a lot, knowing that. You’re a good man, Jetz. Keep up the awesome work, no matter what happens, we’ll be there." |
darkhyrulelord |
"Jetz.acx put forth a highly ambitious goal for 2012 with the g1 Features and g1 Digital Forecast projects and good golly, did he succeed. Not only that, but he is a mighty fine active g1 member as well. |
I consider Jetz.acx to be the technology wiz on ScrewAttack and he often uses his skills to help out on video/sound editing, banners, and any other knick knacks that add to the site and to g1 material. He gives out lots of advice to others if they wish to start on a great and entertaining blog. His blogs still help me out to this day and I urge you to read them even if you believe that you are a blogging pro because his advice certainly has helped me to spruce up my material over 2012. His work is very impressive and it goes to show just how much effort he puts into his videos that he does on a constant basis. He always enjoys g1 involvement with projects and he helps to spread the word about these. He has also been a massive help on the g1 Spotlight on multiple occassions as well. I recall that whenever there is a time crunch to get things done, then he will be glad to help even he does need to. This little spark of helping others is something that help make a great g1, and Jetz.acx is pretty much the embodiment of that. It is unfortunate that he has backed down from g1 Features (for the moment at least) but I can understand how time-consuming such a massive project can be. I hope that g1 Features will still continue to be great and that Jetz.acx will have a well deserved rest for his hard work." |
2. SpoonMan Abrams X

Smoke108 |
"Not only is he one of the top frequenters of the ScrewAttack forums, but he also organizes such groups as the Sig Maker community, ScrewAttack Mafia, and g1 After Dark. He also is a frequent writer and researcher for the g1 spotlight, sharing the work of the g1s by himself, or with his partners. He is an overall cool guy, and that is why he gets my top spot." |
Mr. West |
"He’s a fantastic Mafia gamerunner. He’s a fantastic g1 After Dark mod, and is one of the reasons that the little tinychat room has blown up like it has. And he’s a good friend. He’s helpful, funny, level-headed, and just a nice guy overall. He may not be as well known as some other g1s, but I think that we should fix that. Abrams is the perfect representative for our community, and he’s my personal choice for g1 of the Year." |
firehazard51 |
"LOTS of g1's are amazing people who not only contribute to this site but also help organize the community with social interactions on the forums AND in g1AD tinychat. With that said I'm only going to vote for one person. AbramsX you're the g1 of my choice. Though just barely sneeking past a few other g1s of amazing caliber." |
Shiznita |
"This outstanding person right here. Let me just put up his resume. Supreme Mod Overlord of g1AfterDark. Organizes the Sig thread on the forums AND advertises it on the mainsite so people can come on over! Helper of folks who have problems on the mainsite! Lover of pie (even though I don’t like pie). Master of Spoons and Shenanigans…Spoonanigans! Player of a mean game of mafia. And he mods a mean game too. He’s always trying to get people to join stuff, whether it’s a round of Castle Crashers, a fun night at g1ad, mafia, or the forums in general! =P Giver of Castle Crashers and player of L4D2! |
All round awesome dude who really does care about this community. So Abrams, Abrams X, Abe, Spoony, Spoonman, SpoonmanAbramsx, you’re |
1. Flapperdoodle

Canadian Brony |
"Now this is a guy who simply cannot be ignored. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if he came in first place on this list. He's smart, he's funny, he's charming and he runs a kickass podcast! A lot of people, including myself, really like him. It just goes to show what us teens are capable of." |
Mr. West |
"First of all, Sidetracked is great. I’m ashamed that I don’t listen to it as much as I should, but when I do, it’s awesome. Second, Flapperdoodle is one of the hardest-working g1s I’ve ever seen. His dedication and personality are evident in every project that he works on, and his blog is pretty fantastic. On the internet, youngins can be pretty bratty, selfish, lazy and vulgar. Flapperdoodle is the slap in the face that the stereotype deserves." |
Dark Magician |
"Besides Sidetracked, he is an active blogger and he is a model g1." |
southsing |
"Probably the most dedicated g1 in all of Screwattack. Always working on anything that has "g1 features" or "Sidetracked" in the title." |
Elmo 3000 |
"Whether it's collaborating with other g1s to creating awe-inspiring pieces of work, working on the most successful podcast the site has that isn't Sidescrollers, or just being an all-round nice guy, Flapperdoodle should've landed on everyone's radar as a g1 noteworthy of exuding an aura of pure awesome. I look forward to everything he will continue to bring to the site as much as I appreciate all the things he's done already." |
SideSmash |
"Why? Because he's put in a ton of effort with every single thing he contributes to the site. He's an ambitious young man; almost TOO ambitious if you ask me. He's done more in the two years he's been on the site than I have in almost five. He's got a damn good work ethic, and he's a really nice guy to talk to on top of everything else. Flaps serves as a role model to all of the younger g1's out there." |
LousyTactician |
"It's everyone's favorite g1 on the face of the earth (OK, my 2nd favorite g1), Flapperdoodle! And by golly, does the man have a lot of talent! He's got some awesome top 10s (are you noticing a pattern here?), some solid reviews under his belt, loads of contributions to g1 Events, a collab piece done by the two of us, and his very own, very popular podcast that has been going strong for 20 episodes. I border on being jealous at the amount of consistently good stuff he can put out. Even his sigs tend to look very elaborate and creavite. |
Better yet is all the stuff made by other g1s that he gives lime-light thanks to SIDETRACKED. The podcast talks about virtually everything going on at Screwattack, and is very convenient for people like me who can't typically keep up with so much stuff being made by the community. I wouldn't be surprised if Flaps wins this community poll and would be very happy if he did. He's nice, fun to talk to, is willing to be honest and critical when needed, and most of all, makes me feel and care deeply about Screwattack, and g1s as a whole." |
darkhyrulelord |
"Flapperdoodle has been such a warming and helpful g1 to others that he will do just about anything to have a grand collab with any g1 as much as possible. He is very much one of the "community g1" of the year in that regard. |
Most recently he has helped out the the g1 features by compiling that gargantuan list of the community's top ten Wii games. Again, I can imagine the amount of effort placed into that thing. It's a beast. Also, he continually makes great blogs in his series that are always a joy to read and I do believe that they deserve more attention....especially his Perfect Platformer series and such. He also reviews countless of material and there is much depth into his writing. Clearly, he puts much time and effort into his work. Flapperdoodle, perhaps most significantly, also hosts a great g1 podcast called Sidetracked. This g1 podcast discusses over many great blogs/videos g1s have produced over the week. Again, I can imagine the amount of effort it has taken to host and be a part of a podcast of that ambition week after week. The podcast is also great too so I urge you to look into that if you have the time. Flapperdoodle has taken a part in other g1 projects and also interacts with many g1s over Twitter. He is a very friendly g1 to hang around with and other g1s should look up to his great actions." |
______________________________________
Congratulatons to everyone who made it on this top 10, you deserve it!
Also, congratulations to Tom the Iron Man for winning g1 of the Year 2012!
And finally, an applause for the community as a whole. We did good last year, many amazing things happened and I hope we continue to strive this year as well!
This conlcudes this g1 Community List and I thank all those who supported it. This could have turned out quite messy, but I think we did good!
Remember to keep an eye out for the announcement of the next Community List!
Also, if you did not support this list. don't complain about it. But, if you're still going to, then #BlameFanBoy. Always #BlameFanBoy (Twitter/g1AD/Forum inside joke).
Until next time everyone!

Guys... there are no words.
I am so thankful for all of you. I know that this list kinda shouldn't have been made, because it may make g1s get on an ego high or it may make some g1s feel bad. And I get that. But my god... to see me at #1... I am so surprised. I honestly thought JETZ or Abrams would get it. They are WAY better g1s than me, in all fricken honesty. I really didn't see this coming.
Just know this: I am here to please all of you. And it seems like I am doing an alright job of that. So I will keep doing what I am doing, no matter what. Thank you all for the amazing support throughout the last year and a half or so. From the bottom of my heart... thank you. :)

Congrats dude! :D

Sadly, I only recognized two of the names on the list. Guess I'm just that much of a noob...
Canadian Brony
Nice list, although I can see envious g1s coming from a mile away.
The Stickman
Don't really see why we do things like this, it only seeks to inflate the egos of the people who get listed, and bum out people who aren't. So many g1's provide so many different things to the site, be it blogs or videos, forum activity or just a friendly face to talk to. There's no way in hell we can rank all of them like this.
Tommahawk
THIS LIST IS BOLLOCKS. NO MENTION JAWSHY, JOM OR DARK. Where are the men that seed discord? :D
SideSmash
Excellent work. I especially like Tom's photo because that's EXACTLY what comes to mind when I think of him. I hope that I, too, will be up on the 2013 list at the end of this year. Lists like these inspire me to be a better g1, to be a more active member of the community. That's the true value within the g1 of the Year.
And while there will always be haters, I guess the ones against this harmless blog just really don't get the point.
southsing
That was pretty cool :)

I really don't get why these types of posts are made. Don't get me wrong: it's nice to recognize people for their hard work but this has got to stop. Having a "best g1" is, quite frankly, a stupid idea. Why are we taking members of the community and placing them on a higher pedestal than everyone else? Does nobody have a problem with this? What happened to the idea that we are all equals as g1's? Apparently, that idea doesn't exist anymore.
Before of any of you sound off, I'd like to make one thing certain: I do not hate/dislike any person on this list. However, saying that someone is the best when we are all, in theory, supposed to be equal, is a fact that pisses me off. The amazing thing to me is, people keep doing it. It creates a divide. More importantly, it makes everyone else feel unimportant.
I'd also like to point out that me not being on this list has nothing to do with this comment. This is how I've felt for awhile now. I just don't understand why this community feels the need to promote certain members more then they've already been promoted.

I thought a while about sending in an entry for this community list and my thinking eventually falls in line with what you are saying.
"Who am I to say who is the "best" g1 and why do we need to know who is ?" That's the conclusion I came to. And all the people on this list are freaking awesome but there are also people NOT on this list who also make great videos & blogs & what not.
I think this is a good point to let the SA crew just give a shout out when & if they want to g1's and for the rest of us to just keep having fun together.
