Gamers might be running to the Wii U once the New Playstation and New Xbox are out
With Nintendo, patience always pays off. People are so critical on the launch of new hardware, wanting new generation games to come out yesterday and they want new and exciting IP’s this instant. Why are people so negative towards the Wii U? They say its going to ruin Nintendo and its going to be another Gamecube.
What’s wrong with the Gamecube? That thing is indestructible. The Fat PS2 and the first line of Original Xbox’s were faulty and broke down in 2-3 years. Not the Gamecube. It enjoyed multiplatform games that were on par with the PS2 and Xbox. It had all the great Nintendo properties you know and love. And it had the Gameboy Player with some old school NES games being remade for the Gameboy Advance.
Yes, it's called the Wii U. Yes, it has a big tablet controller. Sure its not as powerful as you would expect a new-gen console to be. But you know what? I like the tablet controller. I like to pop in Black Ops 2 and play on my tablet controller while I have something going on my television.
The games will come. This is Nintendo after all. Things take time. Companies are just now transitioning to develop for new-gen consoles. Everyone is apprehensive of what it will take to develop for Sony and Microsoft’s new behemoths. A new Zelda game will definitely put a lot of smiles on people’s faces.
You could say all the great games are coming out on the PS3 and 360 as of late. That’s expected with the companies understanding the old hardware really well at this point and we are seeing a lot of sequels to already established bestsellers stealing the show. Its pretty easy to focus on games when you aren’t launching a new console.
All eyes are on Nintendo these days, but what are they saying about Sony and Microsoft’s new consoles? Sony really wants to implement an Anti-Used Game component. Sony filed a patent on a tablet controller. Sony wants cloud streaming games and is also thinking of Online-Only gaming. Microsoft is gonna have the Kinect 2.0 and no doubt will have the Anti-Used Game component as well. But, they will be powerful as fuck.
Looks like Nintendo’s competition is being very restricting with their new hardware, while the Wii U is making things dare I say... easier? I am a lazy guy. I have so many videogame consoles, a DVD player, a VCR, and a satellite receiver all running into one television set. So that is a lot of switching around with the video input source. If I’m too lazy to reach for my remote and change the video source (heaven forbid), I can just pop in a game into the Wii U and grab the tablet controller and play that way. Doesn’t that sound more.. easier?
I imagine how much of a pain in the ass it will be to play video games on the PS4 and 720. Either you walk over to your console to press the power button or remotely turn it on with your wireless controller. Wait for it to bootup and enter the dashboard. Put in your game which means getting up and walking all the way to your console to do so.
Next, there will be an update that needs to be made. Possibly make you agree to a Terms of Service where it will state you can only play this game disc on your console and any other copy of the game will be rejected. And if its an online game with a multiplayer, you must enter your online pass so you can play multiplayer. Just so you can play your Triple A games. Now if you console breaks, internet goes down, or your account gets hacked, where does that leave you?
But hey! They will be twice as powerful than the Wii U!
