GameStop closes across Northern Ireland
GameStop has closed up shop in all three of the company's locations across Northern Ireland, reportedly informing employees just days before the closures. The shop fronts now feature posters directing customers to GameStop's online store.
“We are transferring all of our UK business on-line to www.gamestop.co.uk,” one poster read. “We will honour all outstanding deposits and gift cards on www.gamestop.co.uk.”
GameStop regional head Michael Finucane says the online shift has been in the works for a while.
However, The Gaming Liberty reports that employees were only notified of the closures on Sunday, January 22nd.
Finucane says store locations in the Republic of Ireland are "not affected at this time", though there's no mention of how long that will remain true.

I'm not fond of Gamestop's practices, but I hope the people living there don't lose out on games, since non game-only stores don't have as many games as major stores, obviously.

I have only ever bought one game (SC2 collectors edition) from the GS in Belfast, sucks the employees got no notice but I can't say I'm surprised as most people I know are either stupid enough to use Game or smart enough to use an online retailer.
On a side note, yay for NI making some news!
