With Nintendo stepping up the third-party support for their recently released Wii U, many gamers are left wondering why didn't Borderlands 2 ever make it to the big N's latest home console?
Well, the answer can be found in a recent interview that took place between GameMaster Magazine and head of Gearbox, Randy Pitchford. Pitchford stated...
"We get asked if there is going to be a Wii U version of Borderlands, and the reason why there's not is because we couldn't think of a natural, obvious, 'OMG, I want that for what the Wii U brings to the table' feature."
However, when asked why Aliens: Colonial Marines will be getting the Wii U treatment, Pitchford replied with...
"With Aliens, the first thing we thought was 'Holy Sh*t, I can have a motion controller in my hands!' When it's there in my lap it feels like I'm part of the movie."
What do you think g1s? Do you think the Wii U could bring a lot to the Borderlands experience? Or is Pitchford right about leaving the Wii U behind? Let us know in the comment section below!

Local multiplayer where I can see the entire inventory on the tablet. I know it's obvious, but it's something, you know? And possibly using the tablet to direct certain things like grenades and the Mechromancers skill etc. I think it'd be neat. I dont know.

The multiplayer focus behind Borderlands would have been a great excuse to develop a launch title for the U that uses more than one game-pad for local multiplayer. Either way, I see no reason why Borderlands 2 couldn't have been on the U since it's on the other big consoles and PC as far as I know probably.

I think they could implement it better then Activision has done for Black Ops 2, even if it is just menu navigation or a handful of random executable actions.

With any RPG, I think the Wii U's second screen can make menu navigation, exploring, trading, etc. easier and more convenient, but not necessarily game changing. If I didn't have it already, would I buy it for they Wii U? Yes. Would I re-buy for the Wii U? No.

should at least give it a try before saying no plus i dout they will cut half of the stuff off people still on the wii -__- this is wii u totaly diffrent dispite its name and its not much motion controled so why not i would love to see borderlands 1 and 2 and future ones on the wii u as a test or something also last thing Wii U Pro controler They did it with CoD so i dont see the issue at all just dont make it a wii remote or game pad version of borderlands and only use the gamer pro its not rocket science =\

It would be neat to have that same sort of tension the marines have in the movies with the upcoming Aliens game; to have to look down at the game pad to see your sonar device and back up at the tv screen to see what's in front of you.

I get what he's saying. The most i can think of for Borderlands 2 on the WiiU is a minimap or quick weapon switch. There isn't really a big incentive for a WiiU version

Yes, it WOULD be truly terrible for them to slap a half-ass port on a disc and sell it to Nintendo consumers. Making money is for fools.

I say forget the WiiU til the new Smash Bros is announced
