Gearbox Software wants more Duke Nukem
After a long 14 years in development, Gearbox Software stepped up and released 2011's Duke Nukem Forever. However, Gearbox isn't quite ready to let Duke Nukem resign just yet.
In a recent interview with IGN, Gearbox's Randy Pitchford spoke about why he thinks Duke deserves another game...
Oh Randy Pitchford can you do no wrong. Basically everything he does is great. A new Duke game made by Gearbox would be really cool.
And I am still holding out for Borderlands 2: Duke's Underdome Riot.
I would love to see this. I actually loved Forever.
Looks like the Duke actually was telling the truth when he joked about a sequel.
The next Duke Nukem game should be a new genre of shooter. Really fast pace and lots of pain. The man should like, get health from killing stuff and punt enemies across rooms.
well the good news is it really cant get any worse, it can only go up hill form DNF
As long as they bring Duke back to his DN:3D days, I'm okay with this. Hell, I would actually love to see a game that resmebles that 2001 trailer of Forever. That seriously looked awesome.
I'd love to see a new Duke Nukem game, something fun
I'd love to see more Duke. I trust Randy 110%.
I'm entirely okay with this, even though I didn't enjoy DNF. I hope that whatever they do, it isn't cookie-cutter shooter mechanics and snarky Duke comments. Bring some substance to Duke, both in character and gameplay.
I'd really to see some REAL support if they truly want more Duke Nukem. Remember what happened with Duke Nukem Reloaded (Remake of DN3d)?
Forever was under rated, flawed, yes in some respects, bad, no freakin way! Lots of fun and back to what games used to be about, being fun, you don't see that these days! There all about being real and perfecting every 3d graphic effect on the planet! Who cares if the heros eylashes dont look perfect! as long as the game is good im happy. I would love another duke game and would be very interested to see what the gearbox guys would do, they're a great developer so i wouldn't be surprised if it was Awesome!!
YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES!
I think this is an already dead franchise, but if they can make an interesting spin on the new game I think they have a chance.
It's good to see a company taking an old IP and wanting to bring it back to it's roots. Let's hope the roots aren't stale for what people think is fun and entertaining by today's standards.
I knew Duke Nukem Forever was gonna be a bastion of misplaced potential. I was really hoping to see what Pitchford would do with the property afterwards.
Oh yes, definitely. Just this time around, make it more old school style, as in:
-No regenerating health, use healths packs to heal
-Be able to carry all of your weapons.
However, I did have some fun with Duke Nukem: Forever. It had it's problems, but it was not a bad game.
Shut up, and take my money!
Gearbox has demonstrated they know how to make fun games with Borderlands. Forever has been through development hell, but if anyone can bring the Duke back, its Gearbox!
Hell yes, Gearbox are the perfect company to do a good duke game!
There needs to be more Duke Nukem games that don't suck ass.
