George, Ralph & Lizzie may 'Rampage' theaters
Word around the web is that New Line Cinema plans to bring a movie adaptation of the arcade classic Rampage to a theater near you.
There's never a shortage of potential game-to-movie adaptations, and most of the time they aren't worth writing about. But from time-to-time, I'll hear of an adaptation that tickles my funny bone or is so ludicrous in nature that it must be discussed. This is one of those times.
Rampage, Rampage, Rampage. Fun as hell to play, but I can't imagine how it will translate into anything other than a "Godzilla and Friends" flick. Been there done that. I'm assuming they'll give the humans-turned-monsters Lizzie, Ralph, and George, some backstory though I'm having trouble seeing the premise working out on the big screen. It'll take some really good special effects work to pull it off, something New Line Cinema isn't exactly known for (ahem, The Golden Compass).
Although, despite my reservations, I know at the end of the day if there's a Rampage movie in theaters, I'm going to have to watch it.
