God of War: Ascension is dated and gets a slew of Collector’s Editions
PlayStation Europe has revealed that God of War: Ascension will be launching all over the world in March of 2013. You have the 12th for NA, 13th for the EU, 14th for Australia/New Zealand, and 15th for UK/Ireland. Beyond that it was also revealed that there will be various Edition’s for those who are interested in forking over their hard earned dough.
The Collector’s Edition comes with:
- An 8″ Kratos figurine
- Steel Book game case
- Official game soundtrack in digital format
- PS3 dynamic theme and avatars
- Double XP bonus for multiplayer
- And the DLC pass to unlock all future DLC
The Special Edition comes with:
- Steel Book game case
- Official game soundtrack in digital format
- PS3 dynamic theme and avatars
- Double XP bonus for multiplayer
And then there is of course the Standard Edition which is only the game. Without seeing any pricing yet, it is hard to say which one is worth it, but I think Sony missed an opportunity. Why not create a version that also comes with the God of War Saga? Then they could put a price on owning every God of War game ever made.

I wish I could be one of those people that could afford the biggest collector editions but I'm not (as well as PLENTY of others) so........yeah. Although.....the idea of having a steel GoW game case sounds glorious on my game shelf.

Yes and no. I feel as though that having physical items is worth going collector's edition, but I am sick of collector's editions that just have the little things. DLC, Steelcase, and soundtrack. I want physical stuff, everything else that's digital is digital.
