HD remakes would include more than just improved graphics, Nintendo reveals
With a slew of franchises and memorable titles at their fingertips, it’s rather odd the recently released Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD is only one of the few Nintendo games to receive an update in the past years. The Big N may be in the mind to change that, however, as the company’s Shigeru Miyamoto recently discussed.
However, as you read in the headline, Nintendo would also be looking to improve gameplay elements as well with these remakes. Miyamoto continued on to reveal a common question the company considers is: “What new elements of gameplay can we use with the Gamepad [Wii U controller] as applied to some of these older games?”
But what do you think g1s? What Nintendo game would you like to see be given the HD remake treatment? Or, should The Big N just focus on creating new games and experiences? Let me hear your thoughts in the comments down below!
Super Mario Sunshine HD please
Well, I dunno. There was that recent remark from Miyamoto, in which he stated that Retro Studios is under strong consideration for the next Metroid title, so we know that they're at least brainstorming for it. We're not likely to see its release until at least 2015, but at least we know they're planning on it. And besides, Metroid is the obvious candidate for a real graphical showcase for the Wii U's hardware capabilities, not that it'd shut up any of the haters, out there.
Please Nintendo, remake F-Zero GX, Double Dash, Star Fox Assault and Mario Party 2 and give them online multiplayer. Then take my wallet.
After other M.. i think they iced the series... its not popular in japan at all.. but maybe, here is hopeing.
An HD update is all F-Zero GX would need. That game was spectacular.
Give us an HD Metroid Prime Trilogy to hold us off until we get the next, truly new Metroid title.
Are you listening Capcom?
Oh who am I kidding? They're too enthralled in all their crap mobile games to even notice.
See now Nintendo knows how to do it right. how many HD remakes bundles are on the PS3? I lost count and all of them are nothing more than slightly better graphics or even mearly smoothed out pixels which may actually look a bit weird. But Nintendo knows how to make just a bit more effort to change things up a bit and make additions or fix the originals biggest flaws. Even if they don't fix everything and even if new problems crop up it's still good to see some things improve and see effort to do something besides trying to sell us the same game twice.
It would be cool to have a remake of Super Metroid, Kirby's Dreamland 3, Kirby 64, or Kirby Air Ride.
I'd say F-ZERO, but I assume many people are already stating that one, so I'll just say, Elite Beat Agents.
This just screams F-ZERO. Fix a few glitches, tweak the difficulties up and down in some areas (sort of like Retro did with the Metroid Prime Trilogy), maybe add some new tracks, online replay and ghost sharing (and preferably multiplayer, or they could save that and make an F-Zero UX... plz?) and up the graphics to make them even better than they already were. There are plenty of games to choose from whether it's Sunshine, Star Fox, Metroid Prime, the list goes on, but I still think F-Zero is the #1 option right now. It's 10 years old and the franchise needs a serious revival! Also, SSB Melee HD Online would be AMAZING, but we all know that probably isn't going to happen based on how much Nintendo loves its community. That whole 'you can't stream it at EVO just because' thing was just stupid. -_-
Oh. Imagine Super Mario Sunshine in HD. THAT WATER
The Wii has so many games that deserve a proper HD remake, like Xenoblade or Metroid.
Mario 64 was remade on DS, Majora's Mask would probably be more at home on 3DS like with Ocarina of Time.
id be down with spicing the remakes like that RE-One remake. As long as it aint a lackluster reboot like DMC, it could work out just fine, nothing too game breaking. Hell even MGS Twin snakes was quite a remake.
Star Fox Assault. Great unappreciated game that deserves another chance.
And more levels. Definitely needs more levels.
I'm down with this HD remake strategy. Let's just hope they don't go overboard on the Gamepad integration and put in stuff that no one wants or is broken.
HD remakes of Super Mario 64, Majora's Mask, DK64, and Kirby: The Crystal Shards
DO EET NAOW NINTENDO
If they do any more HD remakes, they should do an F-Zero one, just add new tracks and 5 player multiplayer, perhaps a vehicle creation system that's better than the GX one, and Bob's your uncle.
New games would be the best bet I'd think. HD remakes are nice and all but I'd love to see new things. Granted, I won't stop asking for a Wii U Skyward Sword until it happens...or at least a patch that lets me play the thing with a non-motion controller.
