Hey g1s, the Vita needs some love!
Editor's Note: Don't forget that Playstation Plus will be coming to the Vita next month as well.
I bought the Playstation Vita the day it came out, and I've not regretted it one bit. I bought many games that first week, and quite a few more games since then. As of right now, there appear to only be 42 Vita titles out, and that might seem like a low number... but have you beaten them all yet? I doubt it. Alongside the PS3, I've got SO many games to play, I can't keep up.
I've 100%'d Super Stardust Delta, Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Touch my Katamari, Sound Shapes, Gravity Rush, Plants vs Zombies, Motorstorm RC, F1 2011 and Resistance: Burning Skies all of which were very fun games, except for maybe Resistance, but I enjoyed it enough to Platinum it :P
Rayman Origins, Modnation Racers, Hot Shots Golf, LBP Vita, Unit 13, Escape Plan, Lumines and Metal Gear Solid HD Collection are also amazing, and I've yet to complete these titles. And I know there are quite a few other games that I haven't played which have got great reviews, like Mortal Kombat, Tales from Space, BlazBlue, MvC3, and Fifa.
If anyone is on the fence about buying a Vita, I strongly urge you to do so, its a brilliant piece of hardware, with many games to occupy your time, and I haven't even mentioned all the Augmented Reality, PS1, Mini's, and new Playstation Mobile games which can also be played on the Vita. The system can only get better as time goes on, but its needs more support from consumers to do so!
Maybe I'm just not as picky as other gamers when it comes to the genre's I play, but the Vita has provided me with hours of fun, and will continue to do so.

I pick on the Vita because it's a total waist of time. It's that way because it doesn't have any 3rd party support. People pick on Nintendo for relying on gimmick. Those same people praise the Vite for having nothing but gimmicks. The problem here is that while Nintendo might rely of gimmicks they also make good games. The Vita is relying on gimmicks. The games it has aren't very good (except a few) and people don't want to spend that much money on it. I've been saying this for a few months now. Sony needs to discontinue the Vita and work on the PS4. They're only loosing money on the system.

"42 Vita titles out, a low number... but have you beaten them all yet?" - Do I really want to beat them all? I don't think so, usually I don't play games I'm not interested in!
"Maybe I'm just not as picky as other gamers when it comes to the genre's I play" - That's the point, you just play arbitrary games to be able to play anything. If you would have some preferences, you would find just a handful of games that are worth playing.
"I've 100%'d ... [some games]" - As I see you're the type of gamer who needs a 100% completion on (nearly) every game, that means a regular gamer wouldn't take as long to 'finish' a game as you do. So you're point of 'hours of fun' is really relative.
"I haven't even mentioned all the Augmented Reality, PS1, Mini's, and new Playstation Mobile games" - I can also play PS1 classics and Minis on my PS3 (portability aside) and I'm not interested in AR, so the only bait would be the mobile games but those won't make me buy a Vita.
Conclusion: The vita IS a beautiful piece of hardware without doubt, but there are not enough 'good' games, if you have at least some preferences. The point you made is valid for a certain type of gamer, but cannot be applied to the whole gaming community.
I'm going to buy a Vita, when enough games are available, that interest me, but as long as this isn't the case, I'll pass. You could say that this behaviour is the reason of the lack of 'good' games, but so be it. I'm not willing to make the same mistake I did with the PSP.

For me it's not so much the "lack of games! (even though I do miss some sort of killer app), it's more about the fact that I in most cases don't want to play console-esque games on my portable. Uncharted is probably the best example, where the game feels more of a toned down Uncharted PS3 game instead of a unique handheld game (now I myself have only played a demo of Golden Abyss, but this seems to be a quite common opinion). And... not to be a downer, but I can play for example Plants VS Zombies, Rayman Origins and Metal Gear Solid HD without having to throw down $250 + an additional $50-100 for a decent sized memory card AND then throw out money for the games. Nah, I'll wait for a price drop. :)

Yeah, I regret choosing 3ds over a vita. I got a 3ds since near launch and to date I have 5 games :/

I'm getting it just to play Persona 4 again, may seem odd to buy a console for a game you already played but that game is my favorite game of all time. Aside from that, I may get Virtue's Last Reward since the 3DS is region locked and maybe New Little King's Story.

I bought a 3DS after the price drop thinkng it would be awesome technology to have. Now, less than a year later, Im about to trade it in for a Vita when the price drops soon. In fact, I think Ive been getting more entertainment out of my aging PSP than my 3DS. Ill definitely be getting one soon and loading my PS1 classics to it.

I got the pre-order for the AC vita. I'm honestly looking more forward to using it for stuff like Persona and all the PS1 Classic RPG games.
