Famed Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu recently published some brand-new screenshots from the upcoming Double Helix developed Strider reboot and since they were in the “Cyber Week” spirit, the folks over at Capcom USA decided to share them with excited fans here in the West.
The screenshots show us that many of Hiryu’s trademark moves such as his ceiling crawling maneuver, summersault, and of course his trusty slash technique will remain in tact but this gallery also gives us a peak at a new addition to his arsenal, the Down Crack. This move is a devastating downward sword strike that can take down a cluster of enemies within Hiryu’s close vicinity.
These screens also provide a closer look at the cityscape level and the robot drones that need a good slashing. Speaking of which, you may also notice the colorful particle effects Double Helix has implemented to make the cyber ninja’s deathblows all the more satisfying.
Capcom is promising more Strider news will be announced in the near future but until then, we’ll just have to look through these screens and re-watch the initial gameplay trailer.
The game will launch on PS3, Xbox 360, PS4, Xbox One, and PC in 2014.
