Injustice: Gods Among us gameplay from EVO

7/9/12 6:00pm

None other than Ed Boon was at Evo 2012 this past weekend to show off 15 minutes of new gameplay of Injustice: Gods Among Us.

In the video it shows Superman vs Flash and Batman vs Solomon Grundy.

The game features interactive levels. For example, you can smash an opponents head into a car, or press a button to have missile's launch from Batman's Batmobile. Also, you can fight your way through diffrent arenas and pull off some cool looking supers.

Anyways, enough chatter, watch the vid and leave your thoughts g1s!

Although I see a lot of complaints in the comments about polishing, did we all forget how craptastic the E3 MK9 looked like vs the finished game? I imagine the same will apply here. Im actually quite excited for the innovation they're trying to do.

Making the stages a strategic part of the gameplay is a bit ambitious, but if its balanced and done well, it could really change things

Looks amazing to me, though there are some minor things I would change such as Batman's fighting stance, Flash's walking motion, etc.

As long as it has the same amount of content that MK9 had like a really good story mode then I'm sold.

This looks really promising. It just needs about a year or so more of polish to really make it shine.

Yeah it does look like it'll feel like MK9. I don't mind that too much since I enjoyed MK but.... I don't know. It's a toss up for me right now.

They really need to step up in terms of design and combat. The fighting engine doesn't seem different from MK9 at all, with the exception of the stage hazards. Even the letters that say "K.O." and "So and SO Wins" seems really bland. If Netherrealm want's this game to be played at Evo they have to put less focus on the stages themselves and put effort into the actual characters. I know it's still in development, but I have a feeling this will be more like a Power Stones type of game. Which isn't bad at all.

This is far from a complete game, you cant fault animation, physics etc. errors this game isnt even that close to being done. Its to show off what they have done and the idea of wer ethey are going, give 6 months and you will see.

July 10, 2012 - 1:03am

Oh, I don't doubt for a second it won't show improvements within the months to come, I'm just saying they shouldn't focus so much on the stages themselves. I'm open to new ideas for the fighting genre, but stage hazards seem like a glorified mini game to me.
