Insomniac’s Fuse has been delayed according to an EA earnings call

2/1/13 1:02pm

On a recent Q3 earnings call, EA CFO Blake Jorgensen let investors know that Fuse has been delayed slightly. The newest IP from Insomniac is set to be a multi-platform release on PS3 and Xbox 360, which is now slipping from it’s original March date. Instead it will be launching sometime in fiscal Q1 2014 or late spring early summer.

We should see it hitting store shelves before the end of June. This delay will let Insomniac have more time to polish and put some “extra work” into the game. Certainly shouldn’t be considered a bad thing, so long as it makes for a more solid gaming experience. I am sure we can find something to play in the meantime…

2014? When the next gen consoles are out? That would be a bad idea unless they move it over to the next gen. Yeah, there are those rare games that sell better being released on the past generation as so many more people have the system (Pokemon Black/White 2 and God of war 2 being key examples) but usually a game released on a "left behind" generation system after the next gen is out will struggle because the hype isn't there and the gamers have moved on. Many IPs have been hurt by this.
