It appears Ninja Gaiden Z will be a next-gen title

10/20/12 1:20pm

During this year’s Tokyo Game Show, a new Ninja Gaiden spin-off set in a zombie apocalypse was revealed to be in development at both Team Ninja and Spark Unlimited, under the direction of Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune.

While there was plenty of buzz about the game, no one knew what console the game was being developed for, nor a possible release window. It turns out there was a good reason why these details weren’t available.

Job listings for a senior designer, multiplayer engineer, AI engineer, and effects artist have popped up on Spark’s homepage and they seem to indicate that not only is Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z a third-person "hack and slash" combat game with shooter elements and multiplayer features, it’s also destined for a release on next generation consoles.

While this isn’t quite an official reveal in the traditional sense, it seems Yaiba will likely be one of the first “killer apps” for the next Microsoft and Sony consoles. Maybe it’ll even pop up on the Wii U. Who knows?

When more details about Ninja Gaiden Z become available, we’ll be sure to let all of you g1s out there know.

Since Sony and Microsoft isn't going to let the PS3 and 360 die anytime soon it's probably safe to say this game besides being on Next-Generation of consoles but also the PS3 and 360 as well so were not left in the dust

Well, considering that 3 out of 3 of Spark's games have sucked badly...

I think its safe to say this game will possibly suck horribly as well. Or who knows, if Mr. Inafune is directing this highly-potential turd, there could be some hope still left for it.

Not for Lost Planet 3 though. Ooooh boy no, that one is doomed alright.

I foresee this being present on the WiiU.

Spark Unlimited? DO NOT WANT. I don't care under who's direction or who they are working with, everything they've ever worked on has turned to death.

I don't want to sound like "that guy" but I have never seen Spark Unlimited release a title that truly proved their worth.
