It looks like the Vita 2000 is ditching the proprietary charge cable for micro USB
Its official, hell has frozen over, Sony has announced that the new and improved Vita 2000 will be going away from their proprietary charging cable. Instead Vita owners will now charge their handheld with the ease of a Micro USB cable. So, if you loose it you can now replace it for about a dollar on the internet.
It's nice to see Sony making the Vita more convenient, its like a soothing apology kiss after the hard pounding we just took from the proprietary memory card. Now watch this adorable Japanese commercial we found while researching this news. It is at least something to soothe the souls of battered Vita enthusiasts.
OLED vita 4 lyfe
Proprietary or not, someone will always find there way around, and crack the system, just give them enough time, and incentive, and Memory stick/Pro/Duo was proprietary to Sony, until they licensed it out to other companies to produce the cards like SanDisk, and I don't know of any products other then Sony ones that used the Memory stick or UMD for that matter. I feel Sony could have use MicroSD cards, and gone with a funky format that's PSVita only, and used special software for hooking it to a Windows or Linux PC to transfer music and movies over which copies each file to the internal memory which the system then puts on the MicroSD card.
okay, here's the real shit, Sony won't be ditching the proprietary memory cards anytime soon as not having them was the main reason the PSP was so pirated, I'm glad they have a 64gb one coming though, and with any luck it will be the new $100 option, yes it's still a burn and I'm pissed they ditched the OLED in the new models in favor of regular LED (really Sony?!) and they still need more good exclusive games, but this is something, anyway right?!.
I'm still not interested until they change the memory card....and add a few more games.
Great... now gimme a reason to buy this Vita since I already have a Vita
Thats great next is the memory card right?......RIGHT?!
Don't care because there aren't ditching the proprietary memory card instead
