[Japan] Mario Kart 7 sells lots, revitalizes 3DS sales
Famitsu reports that Mario Kart 7, the latest gas-fueled fun-racing romp through the Mushroom Kingdom has sold over 452,000 units in its first week in Japan - and it wasn't even a full week, just 4 days (Dec 1st - Dec 4th.): This makes it the most successful 3DS game yet. But that's not all: Mario and his crew have apparently revitalized interest in the 3DS, as weekly sales have risen to levels unseen since the price drop in August. Take a look at this chart showing weekly 3DS sales: (taken from Famitsu, translated by yours truly)
Quite impressive. See Nintendo? All you need is games.

Sales will probably sky rocket way past that when Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright comes out.

Personally i think if they ported some Japanese only games onto the 3DS in English, the sales would go further thru the roof. Mother 3, Fire Emblem Binding Blade, some of those Shonen Jump all star games, plus a lot more.

Sweet. good for Nintendo sales, especially towards Christmas.

they should (but highly unlikely) actually add some content to games they are revamping for the 3ds. not just graphically.
and they should add more classic/good games. (from several of their systems)
