Killzone: Mercenary is dated for September, comes with a sexy new trailer

1/31/13 4:00pm

Not since E3 has Sony really mentioned the upcoming Vita title, Killzone: Mercenary. Well last night there was a Playstation event and sure enough, Killzone was there in full force. The Guerilla Games Cambridge developed FPS on the Vita will bring nine hour-long missions to singleplayer. The missions span various installments in the franchise and will even run in the Killzone 3 engine.

The best part though might be in the multiplayer. It will span a slew of maps featuring 4 v 4 combat and the earnings collected in either mode will go towards beefing up a persistent character. The trailer below features some beautiful gameplay footage for a Vita title, so it has that going for it. Hopefully it plays as nice as it looks when it releases September 17th in North America.

9 hour long missions? So is the game 9 hours long or is each missions 9 hours? Cause that would be crazy.

Anyway, the Vitas track record with shooters so far is really shitty as both COD and Resistance have sucked but this might be alright. I don't have a Vita though and certainly won't get it for some generic FPS but good for those unfortunate souls who wasted a few hundred bucks on that machine.

Will the multiplayer be similar to what was found in the last 2 Killzones?
