Lego Batman 2: DC Superheroes will be saving the day on the Wii U this spring

3/1/13 10:00am

After it was announced that the latest Lego Batman sold 3.4 million copies across the various platforms it was released on, Warner Bros. Interactive and TT finally announced that Lego Batman 2: DC Superheroes will be available for the Wii U this spring.

Like most Wii U games, Lego Batman 2 will feature the ability to play on the GamePad screen alone, as well as allowing players to use the controller’s touch screen to select characters, and navigate an upgraded version of the game’s map.

The well received sequel to 2008’s Lego Batman is currently available on every console on the face of the earth including the PS3, PS Vita, Xbox 360, PC, Wii, DS and 3DS. I personally enjoyed the game’s first installment, but have yet to get around to DC Superheroes, as most of my time with Batman videogames is spent on Rocksteady’s excellent Arkham series.

But, what about you g1s? Will Lego Batman 2 be the next entry to your Wii U library? Or do you already own the game and don't think it's worth it to buy the Wii U version? Let me know in the comments down below!

Lego Batman 2 on the U makes a lot more sense to me than Amazing Spider-Man does. I can't wait to finally play this game! I know, I know, I could have bought this game on the 360...or the 3DS...or the PS3...but I've waited because...well I don't have a good reason honestly. I was going to get it on the 3DS because the DLC characters are standard, on-cart but the console versions are open world...I'm hoping the U version is the definitive version.

I've played through the game, and the giant map was easily the worst part of the game, especially since it was their first time doing that. The flight was pretty crappy in the over world as well. If the map is easier and faster to navigate, I might consider taking a look at this version.

I'm obliged to disagree, the open world mechanic was one of my favorite parts of the game, it added much more diversity.

This will be the best version, because if I want to play 2 player mode, I don't want a black line when the player is away the other.

Guess I have no excuse to not get the game now.
