Mass Effect 3 Extended Cut ending DLC available for download

6/26/12 11:00am

Editor's Note: Available now, get your DLC for “The Great Kerfuffle of 2012”!

According to a series of tweets from producer Michael Gamble, the DLC will likely be available in the early morning (around 5:00 a.m. Eastern Time) for Xbox users, sometime in the afternoon for PlayStation players, and as for we PC gamers? They plan to have the content available for download on Origin "before noon MST", which makes it 2:00 p.m. here on the East Coast.

Also promised? A drop in the level of galactic readiness required to see all available scenes; a certain choice now requires ~3100 strength in assets rather than ~4000+.

And to see all the changes? Start from the assault on the Cerberus base (which, conveniently, is the autosave created for you after you finish the game).

a few things fixed but to many weren't fixed and i think that thet are going to release dlc that will follow right after the end that will be a dlc end but will not be marketed as such

"Spoilers probably."

After seeing the endings, they feel like things that should have already been in the game.

the only thing that really bothers me now is what Casey said during an interview about the extended cut. He basically said, Well our endings gave hope and we do not understand that much backlash about it; the audiences imagination would let them see what they like. From what I remember, the original endings had the relays explode, which we knew meant because of a dlc pack that the blast would destroy a universe. With that it is hard to see a hopeful future with any other those endings.

I still freakin hate that star kid. Honestly why add in such a powerful being that decides the rest of fate of galaxy in the last 10 minutes of the game with no previous hint about him? In literature or films, that's sloppy story telling.

That "fourth ending"...eh it was kinda cool, but the fact that it ends with all life gone. Yeah kind of a slap in the face thing from bioware. It's cool that they put it in, but it sort of felt like them saying "hey, only way not everyone has to die is with our stuff. Tough shit for you otherwise."

I still don't like synthesis. The whole idea that everyone achieved the pinnacle of evolution its like the other side of complete annihilation. the whole point of imperfection is to always progress. Never ending evolution. With perfection, there is nothing. You don't move forward.

"control" felt the most improved. It felt more like Shepard's Jesus moment. Despite him dying, all the stuff of him having his memories and such, and the fact he controls powerful tech, gives me the feeling that a cutscene of visiting his crew through the Normandy's tech is possible.

Destroy is pretty much the same. Just not as dire.

Since they did stall other dlc for this, now I'm curious what they could possible give us.

I remembered reading a codex entry in ME1

Then I played Three then I listened to Roosterteeth podcast and they had this in the link dump and the Star Child fits in to a codex entry from 1

Well, at least they had the decency to make it free.

Downloading it right now for my PS3. I just hope it makes up for all, or at least most of the mess the original ending made.

It makes it better but it still sucks.

20 bucks says they are going to make another ending that is actually good, but you have to pay for it

Bioware would object to the idea. EA on the other hand...

If they do that i might just give up on gaming.
