SPOILER WARNING: The indoctrination theory is incomplete which is the cause of its biggest flaw & related smaller issues. It misses a possibility. The Reapers being forced to destroy Shepard mind should he reject the indoctrination, as a last ditch fail safe. As such it complete misunderstands/misinterprates "the destroy option" and RESULTS in the theories BIGGEST flaw. It would certainly answer the gaping question of "if they are controlling the hallucination and it is all part of one big indoctrination scheme, why do they provide Shepard with an out allowing him to reject and destroy them." I the answer is simple they didn't. That "out" option was nothing but a trick.
That out was only a trick leading Shepard to destroy his own mind. He wasn't Destroying the Reapers with that option... he was destroying his own mind. It was a simple bait and switch. Its the oldest mind control/psychic warfare trick in the book. It destroyed his mind leaving nothing but a mindless husk in its wake. NOTHING of Shepard would remain in that husk... so in essences Shepard IS dead, even though he physically survived the battle... his mind didn't. It would also explain why he didn't appear get "indoctrinated" when he chose that ending. That was only a representation of his mind, an avatar of it if you will. When he chose "destroy" he thus his mind get blown up/destroyed. Thus there there was nothing left to indoctrinate. In essence he chose death over indoctrination.

What's sad is that this trailer makes you want to save Earth, to take it back from the reapers, fight for those who died trying, and see Earth recover... but I'm STILL left wanting to see these things fulfilled after I've already beat the game. Mass Effect 3 simply had no closure.

Kenshiro my friend you have done the impossible possible, you have taken a already epic trailer, and made it over 9000 time more epic

everyone look...its not we are not happy with the ending...its the fact that all three "endings" are one and the same....if the ending was one of a variety of differnet endings no one would have the ending of this game....its all a matter of choice mass effect 1 to the last 16 minutes of mass effect three....its not choice for all three ending are the same...we tall that boys and girl being retarted!

i noticed alot of people are talking about the ending, so i thought this fan idea might intrest them. it is a chart showing a fan idea for how the ending could have played out. http://i.imgur.com/JhtqY.jpg

EA could have done something like Bioshock 2 and made multiplayer it's own story or something...would have been cool if the multiplayer was the climactic battle for Earth. I mean, you do need lots of people to have a war...

I'd play this game but I'd much rather just kill myself before spending money on another disappointing unfinished EA product.

After all the things I have read about I have to also agree with the issues presented. The game looks so damn good, however with the ending issues and the like I can't justify the cost for such a clear letdown of a epic story ark. No I'm not saying that the bittersweet ending is horrific, but when you devote so much time into a story, its hard to trust / like an author who spits on logic facts and details leading up to this point only to shoot everything down with a shock ending... something that's become so common now that shock endings are the norm really.

I want to play ME3, but the ending controversy has me all turned off. :(
