Medal of Honor receives a doozy of a patch on day 1
Sure plenty of games receive a patch on day one to maybe fix a bug or two. It is more common and affords a developer a little more wiggle room come release date. Medal of Honor Warfighter has possibly misunderstood the term wiggle room since the day one patch for the game is a whooping 1.7 GB! Seriously, how games this broken on the disc can make it through certification is beyond me, but let’s look at some of the fixes specifically outlined in the patch notes.
Immediately you will notice two new features allowing you to join friends or platoons while in-game. Seems like something you’d expect to work on the disc, but meh. Now for bugs we have a couple of fantastic ones, like the tutorial text for sniping or fixing “an issue where controls would become unresponsive under certain conditions” during the single-player campaign. The best part has to include the “Visual Polish” section which includes SIXTEEN changes, plus an additional NINE for PC & PS3. Hopefully gamers are prepared for such a large patch, though the download time is probably excruciating. Head over to EA.com for the full list of patch notes.
That is unacceptable.
What cracks me up most about this story is that game reviewers were denied review copies of this game until after this patch came out... It's as if they rushed this game out of the door and had something to hide!
the 1.7 GB is not the patch. The patch is only like 58 MB, the 1.7 GB is on the second disc and it is a high res install (a la Battlefield 3). Hope that clears up some confusion.
They probably panicked when they saw Hotline Miami came out today too.
wow you're certainly negative
well at least it gives u time to wonder why u bought the game
