This was an entry for the "Shepards of Art" contest. The rules for the contest is to submit what you make in a blog post. I don't find a point do describe this photo, as it is very self explanatory (in a way)
I don't care what anyone says. This was quite amusing, though be sure to add text next time.
Funny or not i thought g1s were better than this some of the comments are just unhelpful. I thought it was amusing.
I'm kinda on the fence about the whole thing (fortunately, it's not barbed. That'd be painful.)
On the one hand, this is a joke post that looks kinda ridiculous. And It didn't deserve a feature, even though it was a response to something very specific. Not to mention, I'm not particularly thrilled with how ScrewAttack's current featuring system works, and this reminds me of that.
On the other hand, there are far more effective ways to express your dissatisfaction. For one, a response blog similar to what g1 MadHero15 posted a few days ago. That was great, and it got quite the response from the staff. Or even satirizing the featuring system, I'd read that too. I'd mention email as well, but I've tried that...and I've still yet to get a response on the matter.
That said, I definitely think both parties need to think this over. The complainers for over-reacting, and the other party (I'm not sure what I'd name them) for...um, "instigating"? I'm not sure how else to put that. But still, this definitely brought the broken nature of the site to mind once more, and I'm hoping that it actually gets dealt with soon. Lord knows how annoying these things get when they're blown out of control... >_>
This. When did everything become so frickin serious?
I am not saying that. Do you think people like Revulsive and some of the others that get a lot of their stuff featured and talked about went in originally with the thought that they are only doing it for everyone to see. They did it because they thought it was fun and enjoyment and hoped some others could enjoy it.
Also think of the context of what you did, it's essentially just a transcript of what was said in the stream. Sure it takes a lot of time to do... but would someone really want to read something they have already watched? Personally I don't. The good lines I remember, the rest that is said while entertaining to watch, does not need to be summarized.
Yes, I should start photoshopping stuff like this.
Okay. Some of you guys need to calm your shit down. I don't like that this got front paged either. However I'm not attacking this guy for posting it. It's not his fault. He just made a Photoshop that he thought was funny. SA liked it and put it on the front page. So complain to the ScrewAttack Staff about this. Chop Chop doesn't deserve this punishment. I like the picture myself though. Still, this needed to have more then a photo. But I'm not going to say things like, "Oh Chopchop you F@#king piece of F@#king S#!T" This is really somehow Nicks fault. Everything is.
Now how this got over looked is beyond me. http://www.screwattack.com/news/extra-life-gaming-marathon-0
If people actually watched Mass Effect Wed this week, then maybe you'd understand this. There is a ME Art contest going on, and g1's were informed to post it in a blog to submit. Whether this was for the contest, or running with the joke from the beginning of this weeks episode, doesn't matter. Don't shit on other's work. Should there have been some text explaining this? Yes, there should have. But those of you who harp that,"this crap keeps good work from being posted", you don't know how hard ChopChop worked in Photoshop with this, and MAYBE was hoping for HELPFUL feedback from the community, not a god damn public stoning.
People spend hours upon hours doing things in life that don't get the feature or recognition they deserve. Hell I'm sure there are things around the SA office that get almost all the way to uploading and it gets canned and NOBODY gets to see it.
If you are doing something that isn't for your own enjoyment or hope that a few people will see... then you have the wrong mindset going into the blog to begin with.
Um... This. This is yes. Comment am good.
I'm kind of on the fence regarding how community things are featured, but I don't think that this amount of complaints on a rather innocent picture which has obviously had quite a bit of effort put into it will change things for the better.
Not really pissed it wasn't featured, but if there is less than a 50% chance than it will be, then it is not worth the effort... It's not like I do it for myself, I do it for the community. And if it wont reach everyone, then there is no point.
Just because someone spent hours doing something does not make it good. Personally I read your one that got featured and was bored with it. I really don't think it should be featured.
Do I think this should be, not really... but you just come off as pissed off because yours isn't featured.
I laughed at this photo. The lion face fits Sam so well.
GUYS. Calm your shit. You've become so damn snooty about blogs lately, and I'm getting sick of it. Do you REALLY think that talking shit about other blogs is going to somehow reinforce your argument about what gets featured? Quite frankly, I'm kind of disgusted.
Could the user have included some text in this blog? Yeah, sure, he could have. Could he have maybe found some other way to show this to ScrewAttack instead of a blog post? Okay, sure, yes he could've. But is it really worth the trash-talking? I know I look like a bitchy mother scolding her child, but I've been waiting for someone else to voice their opinion that matches up with mine, and since no one else has thus far, I guess I'm gonna have to say it.
Now, I do think that the featuring structure could be improved. But I'm not going to shit all over someone else's blog because I'm all mad that my blog didn't get featured. Whatever happened to writing for the sake of writing and not for the sake of getting featured?!
Yes, I did that indeed.
Then perhaps my memory is hazy. But you DID elaborate later, so there's that...
Mine didn't have text in it :P
