Mighty No. 9 will run in Unreal Engine 3 and here's some demo footage
With a little over 24 hours to go and hitting yet another stretch goal, Mighty No. 9 has given yet another update , this one announcing that the game will run on Unreal Engine 3 and showed off what they can do with said engine in a short video. Please note that the following video is not representative of the final product
Since as far as my knowledge go, Unreal Engine 4 is not available quite yet, so Unreal Engine 3 being used for lighting, fidelity and other factors is the best bet to use for Mighty No. 9. Although by the time the game is released, it's likely Unreal Engine 4 will be as well, so using that to make the game would provide more options for lighting and whatever else the game would require. Once again, remember that the above video was made with placeholder assets and animation. It is not representative of what the final product will be like when Mighty No. 9 is released in April 2015.
What I think they should do, is use cell shading to make him look close to being hand-drawn, while still being 2.5D in nature, that way Beck looks more like his concept art.
What I am worried about though is that someone will try and force parts of the game to try and be photorealistic, when it looks much better with a cartoonish aesthetic.
You know, you say the game has recieved lots of funding, but it actually hasn't. The way Kickstarter works is that none of the backers are charged until the Kickstarter actually ends. So not counting the $100,000+ they recieved via Paypal recently, they've yet to recieve a single dime from any of the backers. They're gonna get $3,000,000+ in four hours time, sure, but that's still four hours from now.
people knew this is the mega man game people have been wanting for ages, many old mega man veterans are working on this game and it's not like they could do much without knowing how much money they had at disposal. there were scetches, ideas and talented people working on the fundation of what will be the might no.9 people knew what they needed to know: the right people wanted to make the right game.
I await the results with bated breath.
Looks very good……. Can we get some love for Shantae now?
I have no idea what you were expecting, considering how early this game is in development.
This reply offers no valuable insight or challenge my argument, only me, which is something called ad hominem. It means you have no rebuttal and the only retort you can come up with is trying to discredit me. Game set and match. I win. You lose. I am better than you and I'm sleeping with your mother.
Profile picture = intelligence and an informed and respected opinion. Brilliant!
While I'm glad the other 3 took the time to stop sucking Inafune's cock, it's nice to see a civilized opinion that shows you something more than the other 3: a basic thought process. Now back to my point: I understand it takes time, but hell this is the only footage released well after the project was announced and received lots of funding. In general, my point is that too many people funded a game they knew nothing about.
I almost sighed in grief seeing it's on Unreal Engine 3. But by looking at it in motion, it looks really nice.
so apparently large amounts of money makes a game make itself. you gotta add some time and people to that equation
I approve of this
I'm gonna get a Mighty No.9 Box! WOooo!
i swore to myself that i wouldnt get hyped for this......... sigh
What do you know? You don't even have a profile picture.
I got to donate to this cause. That prototype shows promise to a game Capcom has completely missed out on.
They are also using Paypal to get money from the fans as well. the Current Paypal amount is $115,000.
You're an idiot.
The site says that the xbone and ps4 versions stretch goal has been reached, yet it's still about 75K off of that goal. If it is, in fact coming to next gen consoles, this makes me happy. Though I'll simply buy it when it's out.
Although I am a backer of Mighty No. 9 myself, I really wish more people backed Shantae Half-Genie Hero as well. They already have some pretty good looking footage of the game, and yet it hasn't been as successful.
Well, this is a spiritual successor to Rockman we're talking about, after all...
