Mighty Switch Force 2 Is On The Way!

2/24/13 10:20pm
tl;dr

Another day, another accidental reveal of an eShop title sequel by Wayforward Technologies. Interested?  Read on to find out more!

Editor's Note: Seriously, if you haven't played the first one yet, get it on either the 3DS or Wii U eShop right now! You won't regret it.

During the 50th episode of Sup' Holmes via Twitch and Destructoid, Austin Ivansmith, the man behind Mighty Switch Force! (yes, the title has an exclamation, it just makes it more awesome) accidentally spilled the beans on a sequel to the game. This was later confirmed by Wayforward via Twitter:

@IvanDashSmith just spilled the beans on Sup Holmes, Mighty Switch Force 2 is on its way! Should see more on this in the coming weeks. :)

- @WayForwardTech

Details are scarce, but Wayforward did say they'll have more information in the next few weeks (and hopefully some information on Shantae and the Pirate's Curse, which was announced via Nintendo Power's penultimate issue):

I for one, am incredibly excited for yet another game with Fem-Robocop and the clone prisoners of Cell B-7. Sure, there were some minor annoyances (like the clock constantly ticking down while we're under a time limit), but it was a solid, albeit short, title worth taking a look at for any fan of puzzle platformers on their 3DS or Wii U.  If they can just remove the awkward clock and add in a few more levels, then Wayforward may just top their masterpiece, Shantae:  Risky's Revenge.

Plus we'll get more ugly dog checkpoints!

Oh Wayforward, why are you so quirky?

Because I ripped part of the paper off the code on an e-shop card, so I guesstimated the number. It worked, I saved $5 for another game. 2 months later I got a new e-shop card and entered in, I tried to buy something but it wouldn't work, it'd just tell me something's wrong with my connection. I can still download free stuff, but I'm not sure what would happen if I put in a another e-shop card in.

P.S. Sorry for bothering to buy so late, I'm actually checking my e-mail for once.

These DSware titles and 3ds eshop titles are way too short for me to shell out my cash for. Much longer digital games are available on other platforms for the same or less money with the added benefit of not having to strain my eyes. Seriously, Nintendo really could lower the prices of their downloads.

1 - It's Wayforward, not Nintendo

2 - Quality over quantity my friend.

3 - You don't have to use the 3D, it's optional for a reason.

It's not Nintendo, they're giving the developers the freedom to price their own games. Who said anything about eye strain? No one's forcing you to use the 3D effect (which is awesome for Mighty Switch Force).
