Minecraft might be coming to PS3, but "unlikely" to appear on Wii U
As of now the only console experience you can get of the highly successful PC open world game, Minecraft, is through Microsoft’s Xbox 360. However, it was revealed in a recent interview that a PS3 version of the game could eventually be made, while a Wii U port seems “very unlikely”
In the interview between iGamer (via Edge Online) and Jen Bergensten, lead designer of Minecraft Pocket Edition, the designer said that once Microsoft’s current exclusivity deal with Mojang runs out, then the company will start considering bringing the game to other consoles. Bergensten stated…
If you’re interested in the current iOS and Android version of Minecraft, the lead designer also mentioned that they are trying to make Pocket Edition more like the original PC version by allowing players to connect to dedicated servers rather then other people’s mobile devices.

Minecraft works best on PC. Console lovers can whine about it but anyone and everyone who's interested in Minecraft, still, already has it.

"Unlikely" is the perfect tagline for the WiiU. Is your favorite game coming to the WiiU? Unlikely. Is Rayman gonna come out this year or be exclusive? Unlikely. Are you going to get your moneys worth out of this system? Unlikely. Is the OS ever going to get any faster? Unlikely. Will Dragon Quest X really be released in the US in March? Unlikely. Will I ever change my opinion of the WiiU? Unlikely.

Not outraged, more like mildly baffled... I could see from a business perspective the Wii U doesn't look like much right now, It's gonna take some time for the games to show up and the systems to start selling. But from the perspective of hardware potential, I could see the Wii U gamepad making the game far more intuitive than it would be with a traditional controller. Perhaps another developer just has to show them how it's done. Give it time...

Ok look. I'm fine with Mojang with not putting it on the Wii U. It doesn't make sense when its already on PC and Xbox. But the leaders of the big developers HATING THE WII U. First the executives at Ubisoft delaying Rayman Ledgends until SEPTEMBER to make it multiplatform, then EA executives not allowing Crysis 3 be on Wii U because of the Wii U not using Origin. I'm starting to think people are right about this being even worse of a failiure then the GameCube (Gamecube is Nintendo's worst selling system at this point, which isnt bad, as it still sold 23 million units.)

I'm surprised since the Wii U looks like it can be the better version. But then again this is Minecraft. It's a shit game anyways.

If they make it for a playstation, they need to wait for 4. It will be better equipped and will play the version that is on the pc. you could then release a version for the vita where if you create a world on that, it will play like the xbox version, but if you connect to a PS4's world, the console will do all the heavy lifting. The PS4 could still do the multiplayer like the xbox, but you could add more people in the same room with Vitas. The PS3 cannot handle even the xbox version of minecraft as its RAM is all fudged up, the reason why Bethesda cannot figure out the PS3 with their RAM hungry engines.

I think that, given the ease of self publishing independent games, Minecraft will likely come to the Ps4 anyway.
