Minecraft worlds will be bigger for PS4 and Xbox One, but not infinite

The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One version of Minecraft will feature larger worlds than last-gen counterparts, but they won’t be infinite like PC’s version.

According to Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition developer 4J, the limited save file space on consoles will restrict the size of the worlds for PS4 or Xbox One, but they will be significantly larger than worlds for last generation consoles.

4J also said the PS4 version of Minecraft will implement the DualShock 4 controller’s touchpad to navigate the user interface.

The Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita versions of Minecraft will release later this year, and the game is already available for PS3, Xbox 360, PC, Mac and Linux. Minecraft - Pocket Edition is available for iOS and Android.

Yet Minecraft still isn’t available for anything with a Nintendo logo. While Wii U’s GamePad or the second screen on the 3DS would also be sensible ways to handle the game’s user interface, Minecraft creator Markus “Notch” Persson made it clear there are no plans for Minecraft on Nintendo consoles for now.

Do you play a console version of Minecraft?
