Miyamoto claims the current 3DS design “is the best for this generation"

Iteration goes with a Nintendo handheld like peanut butter goes with jelly. It just makes sense. Since the inception of the DS, we have seen it evolve into the DS Lite, DSi, and DSi XL. Now with the 3DS having been out for over a year and the development of the Circle Pad Pro, a redesign seemed inevitable. That is until Miyamoto said otherwise.

In a recent interview with IGN, Miyamoto revealed that he is “satisfied with the 3DS hardware as it is. [And] I feel like it's the best for this generation”. Despite the necessity of the Circle Pad to improve some gaming experiences, Shiggy was quick to mention the gyroscope meets that need. So what’s next for the 3DS? "What we're thinking about right now is probably going to be for a future generation of handheld." Well drats. I guess it is time to buy a 3DS.
