NBCUniversal announces that G4 will live on!
One year and two days ago, NBCUniversal announced that G4 would become the Esquire Network. Well, two cancelations of shows, a bunch of layoffs, and one delay later... G4 Lives!
Yes g1s, even though Attack of the Show! and X-Play don't exist anymore (as well as their on-air talent), NBC Universal has decided to leave things as is, let G4 still be G4, and give the Esquire Network branding to the Style network.
Says The Hollywood Reporter:
So fellow g1s, what do you think of this announcement? Are you excited to find out that your once-favorite channel still lives on? Sound off below!
YOUR A FRAUD! ( looks side to side.)
It was more so Style Network gave them a better channel spot, instead of saving G4. Basically we're just going to get a dead channel that shows Quantum Leap, Cops, Ninja Warrior, and old X-Play and AOTS reruns. Kind of sad in a way, but G4 has sucked for years, ever since they started becoming Spike Lite.
I agree. They deserve to be on the air!
I used to watch g4 all the time. Then slowly it started to die for me. became less about tech, games and computers and turning into something else. yeah started to watch the channel less and less, only really for x play now and then for a while. back in the day, it was a great channel. used to learn so much comptuer stuff, tech, cheats and stuff about games. It was great, as i said before slowly turn into something else i was not interested in and merely starting to loose interested in. While i'm not sure if g4 has anything interesting on it or stuff that has to do with comptuers, tech or games or cheats for games. i would start watching that channel in a heart beat again [after remembering what number the channel for it was again] , if i heard i could learn about cheat codes, games, computers and tech stuff again, all in one place.
They love shows with attack in the name so how about the ScrewAttack show...airing on Tuesdays and Thursdays 8pm EST
To me, G4 died when X-play and Attack Of The Show left. That being said though, let's see what happens.
They should just put it out of its misery. Its just a re-run channel of Cops, Ninja Warrior(JP) and other shows no one ever watched when they actually aired. G4 may live but its soul died long ago
The real question is, if we will get a resurrection of Code Monkeys?
The WWE Network might happen now that NBC has an empty husk to give out again.
only if they would bring back the old show, with the old host.
The Goddamn Batman isn't Canadian, you're a fraud.
I don't know why they even bother. There's nothing worthwhile left on that channel anymore.
They might as well put the axe to it. They cancelled AotS and X-Play, so what's the point?
I used to love G4 back when they still had shows like Cinematech and Brainiac, and still kept to their primary themes of gaming and general nerd culture.
They died even sooner than that when they kept cancelling all of their gaming related shows and turned "X-Play" into the "Microsoft Cock Suck Block."
G4 died when AoTS and X-Play ended. What they have now is just a corpse. Granted, American Ninja Warrior is still fun to watch (even though the original is better), they do have a second home for that.
They should reruns of old shows there. I dont have cable anymore but I think it will be cool if they put Icons on the air or Code Monkeys you know stuff like that.
Without any original programing it seems pointless to keep it around. They should just let the channel die already.
G4 isn't G4 without the gaming shows. I don't care how many episodes of Cheaters, COPS, or whatever shlock is on that channel anymore. No gaming shows = no G4. And without it, it just isn't the same channel.
