New Dead Space 3 screens leaked
Leaked images of Dead Space 3 reveal co-op, an Arctic setting, and Necromorphs with guns.
The first batch of screens from the upcoming Dead Space 3 have been leaked.
A few details can be inferred from the six images, the most obvious being co-op. The new character is presumably John Carver who is being introduced in an upcoming graphic novel. The armored sergeant is seen in the screens with a bearded Isaac Clarke in an Arctic setting, not unlike The Thing (awesome).
It is likely safe to assume the series is continuing its trend towards heavier action based on the co-op and that, like the Majini in Resident Evil 5 and the Flood featured in Halo 2, it appears the ravaged Necromorphs have gained the ability to wield guns.
Expect an official announcement from EA next week at E3.
Yea, but the devs want moar moneyz.
I really hope it doesn't become DeadSpace: Army of 2..
I played both and I equally shit my pants on both of them.
i am slowly losing fate in Dead Space now hopefully this 3rd one turns out to still be scary with the co-op and all the action.
Unless this has really tight controls, co-op that wants to kill you/a way of confusing you (fake PSMs/ingame chat) nd constantly splits you up then this is going to be a sub £20 purchase from me, i played the first few levels of 2 and its...ok, its lost so much of the atmosphere from the first and this looks like itll be Resi 5 with better graphix x_X.
still, I must say they dont look much like Necromorphs, mainly the first guy, he looks alive with some skin burned off, could well mean there is some sort of virus alongside Necromorphs :o... Anyway id rather they showed your partner as a Necromorph and just have enemies fall over, would lend itself well to the horror roots =/.
Dead Space was horror? I'm sure it was rooty tooty point and shooty the whole time. With the occasional brain dead puzzle. It wasn't a bad game by any means, but it totally wasn't horror.
So they're doing a RE and turning survival horror to action. Meh I'll reserve judgement until more is known.
DS1&2 had none of those things, and they made money.
The devs want more money, therefore they must appeal to gramers.
I couldn't really get into the first one, but I still definitely want to try out the sequel. I'd venture to say the series has always been way more about action than horror.
Zombies with guns. All potential officially abandoned.
Why co-op? Why gun-wielding Necromorphs? Is this suddenly Gears of War, Resident Evil 5 or what? Whatever happened to the creepy loneliness that made the first game so amazing?
Well, at least Isaac grew a beard.
I've only played the 1st and it was fantastic. I kinda scared to play the 2nd because it seems this game is leaning towards more action than horror. A shame.
I'd think you'd want it not to turn out like Resident Evil 5. At least if it's like Gears, the controls will be tight.
please dont turn this into gears of war
Necromorphs with guns?!? How cheap is that?
Well, these look real.
