A new Dragon Ball film is announced

So it's been announced in Weekly Shounen Jump that a new Dragon Ball film is being made. It'll be the first film made in nearly 17 years and the first blip of new material we've heard from the franchise since Episode of Bardock.
The film is slated to be released March 2013. Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama is to be involved with the movie through the screenwriting process onward.
Now with this announcement, the rumor and speculation mill will get going as to what will be going down in the movie. Personally, as long as S.H. Figuarts brings back Goku, Piccolo and Gohan for the movie, I'll be cool. But I'd love to see Krillin, Yamcha, Bulma and maybe even Oolong play a major part, rather than just be cannon fodder/ cheerleaders.

There was a half hour long special that came out a few years back that just about retconned GT… and it takes place after Z! It's really well animated and pretty damn funny. If it's going to be anything like that, I'll be all over it.

GT is kinda considered none cannon by both fans and by Akira Toriyama himself(Toriyama was never in the creation process in GT) so in the MMO Dragon Ball Online GT is completely none cannon.

Wrong, Toriyama was very involved in the creation process and never debated it's canon.

GT isn't technically non-canon, as Dragon Ball Online is technically an alternate canon. Whichever succeeding series (DBGT or DBO) is canon is completely your decision.
