In my opinion i would rather purchase Zelda:Skyward Sword as opposed to Skyrim due to the motion controls and the fact that Skyward Sword is a Zelda game. I've always liked Zelda but never have gotten into RPG'S like Skyrim.
Post in a comment what RPG you would rather buy. If you are not choosing either of the above then put another RPG that you would like to buy in the comment section. (one that came out this year of course)

Zelda is not an RPG damnit.
Both to answer your question, and If I had to go with another, I'd pick 'Dark Souls' just to give that a whirl, I can always return t if I don't like it.

lol I'm buying bought, got Skyrim at 5 days after launch, and Skyward Sword is a day away, i pre-ordered my copy, so yeah, I will have both meaning, I'm not gonna have any form of a "life" in the coming months.
And Skyrim is the only RPG on my radar as of late. I think its the only RPG worth collecting.
