New South Park game coming out for Xbox Live Arcade

10/14/11 10:40am

South Park, a very popular yet simultaneously controversial satiric television show, will be receiving a second Xbox Live exclusive video game. The game title is South Park: Tenorman's Revenge, and is in development from Other Ocean Interactive. It will release on Microsoft's Xbox Live Arcade service for next spring. The upcoming video game will be a console exclusive release.

South Park: Tenorman's Revenge is the second of two South Park titles as part of an earlier console-exclusive deal with Microsoft, which was made around two years ago. This upcoming second entry will be a platformer, where you play the four main protagonists of the show in a fight against the villain Scott Tenorman and his army of Ginger kids plus fan favorite ManBearPig (it's South Park, don't expect it to make sense). The game will feature single-player gameplay as well as four-player online cooperative gameplay.

The earlier entry, titled South Park: Let's Go Defense Play, was a tower defense video game released for the online video game service on October 9, 2009. Although it was the first South Park video game for the Xbox 360, there have been other video games based off the TV show for earlier consoles. Earlier video games based on the show include South Park, a first-person shooter released for the Nintendo 64 and PlayStation 1, South Park Rally, a racing game released for the previous mentioned consoles as well as for the Sega Dreamcast, and South Park 10: The Game, a platformer mobile game.

I think this will end like every south park game ever made.... okay at first, dull in the middle and boring by the end.

I agree completely but if its only $10 that still feels worth it for me

Don't forget South Park: Chef's Luv Shack on the N64.

I did download the previous South Park game as soon as it was released since I'm such a big fan of the show but I kind of regret it. The game was fun in the beginning but it got way too hard later in the game and you could just pass the level if you failed which was a bit weird. I've never been a big fan of Tower Defense games so maybe that's why I didn't enjoy it but it was kind of fun when playing localy with my 3 friends.

Although if this next one will be a platformer, I might check it out. I won't buy it immediately like last time but I'll be sure to download the trail. Platformer and Sidescrollers are my favorite genres so I might enjoy it. The game will probably be better if it's in 2D but it would be interesting to see a 3D platformer.

Agree totally. Pretty much the only fun I had with the tower defense game was the night I got it and a couple friends and I played it. That night was a blast but the game was way too shallow and cheap for me. Then again, I too like platformers way more than I like tower defense games so I'm already anticipating this game more.
