New Super Mario Bros. 2 will have co-op! Just don't expect to play together online.
During Nintendo's 3DS live-stream (which made three E3 events in total. Way to be a media monster hogging up all of our press time Nintendo!), some nice new details about New Super Mario Bros. 2 were revealed. I'm sure you've already heard how it's all about the gold this time around and that the new "Coin Rush" Mode will allow players to play through the full game with limited lives, while sharing their high score using the StreetPass, but did you know that the game has co-op?
That's right! Both Mario and Luigi will be able to work through the main campagin together and both make a mad amount of bank! Unfortunately, even with the Nintendo's recent discovery of online play, this Mario adventure won't be having any of it. So, playing with your online friends won't be possible.
Well, that's a drag. But I'm still excited because the game still looks like a blast and local co-op by itself is a pretty neat bonus ... even though online co-op would have been awesome, not too mention entirely possible. Oh well.
If you're pumped for the game but simply can't wait for it to launch on August 19, be sure to check out the E3 trailer here on ScrewAttack!
